Alexis Bledel and her husband Vincent Karthesier have officially called time on their relationship, after eight years of marriage.
The 40 year old Handmaid’s Tale actress and her Mad Men actor husband, 43 have formally parted ways, according to a report from UsWeekly.
The news was shared by the site on Wednesday evening and the outlet claims to have seen divorce paperwork filed at the Putnam County Supreme Court in New York state on 10 August. The couple share one child together, who they welcomed in 2015.
Vincent's team have since confirmed that he has filed for divorce to The Hollywood Reporter.
Prior to the news of the split, the two have not been photographed together for several months, with their last red carpet appearance together being back in 2017.
No reason for the split has been given.
OK! has approached representatives for both Alexis and Vincent for comment.
The split comes just over nine years since the American Hangman actor reported popped the question to his Mad Men co-star, after the pair had met on the set of the smash hit period drama back in 2011.
In June 2014, the pair secretly tied the knot in a private ceremony in Ojai, California, with the birth of their first and only child following just one year later.
The pregnancy and birth were kept closely under wraps, with the couple remaining tight lipped even after their son was born.
It was only when Alexis’ former Gilmore Girls: A Day in the Life co-star Scott Patterson accidentally spilled the beans during a Glamour interview that the news was made public knowledge in 2016.
“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy,” Scott, 63, told Glamour at the time, while speaking about his good friend.
“We’re comparing notes because my son [Nick, born July 2014] is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect. We’re just really enjoying each other’s company.”
Alexis also famously made headlines earlier this year as she officially bowed out of her starring role on The Handmaid’s Tale after four seasons.
The star had been playing Emily/Ofglen since the show started back in 2017.
Speaking about her departure, she told Variety in a May statement. “I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such truthful and resonant scenes for Emily, and to Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew for their support.”
Vincent meanwhile, was last seen playing Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow on DC universe show Titans back in 2021.
