Josh Duggar’s trial ended in December 2021 with a guilty verdict. In April 2021, FBI agents arrested Josh on suspicion of obtaining child sexual abuse material — and Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, stood by his side through it all. Now, an insider suggests Anna doesn’t see the other Duggar family members, and she’s reportedly “leaning on” her side of the family a lot more often for help.
Are Anna Duggar and Josh Duggar still married? She stood by Josh’s side through the trial and guilty verdict
After Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict, are Anna Duggar and Josh Duggar still married? So far, Anna hasn’t made any moves to legally separate from Josh. During the trial, she appeared to support him until the very end. And the negative response to Josh’s trial from the other Duggar family members allegedly made Anna upset.
“Anna is still speaking to [Jim Bob Duggar] and [Michelle Duggar], but a lot of the siblings have distanced themselves,” an insider told In Touch. “She was upset that some family members decided to speak out against Josh. That broke her heart.”
According to Daily Mail, Anna has multiple video calls with Josh daily while he’s in prison — another possible indicator she intends on keeping her marriage intact.
Insiders claim Anna Duggar continues to lean on her side of the family after the trial
Another insider shared with In Touch that Anna Duggar is leaning on her side of the family more than the Duggar family at this time. A number of Duggar family followers noticed Anna didn’t make an appearance in Jana Duggar’s holiday videos she posted to Instagram, prompting the followers to wonder if Anna was with the Duggars for Christmas at all. According to the insider, Anna is spending her time “praying” for Josh while she is “taking time away” from the Duggars.
“She does talk to Michelle and some of her sisters-in-law,” the insider alleged. “She’s been spending more time with her family.”
A separate source told In Touch that Anna is “leaning on her own family, parents, and siblings, more than ever.”
Despite the Duggar family possibly not seeing Anna as much following Josh Duggar’s trial, the family still wants to offer their love and support to her. “Josh’s troubles may have splintered the family into taking sides, but there’s one person who the majority of them continue to support — that’s Anna,” the first insider added.
When will sentencing happen after Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict?
Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict means the 19 Kids and Counting Star will face years in prison. But the sentencing hasn’t happened just yet. So, when will Josh find out his exact sentence?
According to CinemaBlend, reports claim sentencing should happen by April 2022. During the pre-sentencing phase after the trial, probation officers create a report. The report explains what Josh was found guilty of during the trial as well as prior offenses. Both the prosecution and defense can look at the report and agree to it before the judge sees it and determines the sentence. Ultimately, Josh Duggar’s crimes could cause him to face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
