Ant and Dec reveal they turned down SMTV Live two times
Adele Rose helped launch the careers of many stars including Ant and Dec, who rose to fame in the much loved TV show Byker Grove. The television star was also a writer on Coronation Street from 1961 to 1998. The Byker Grove creator died from pneumonia on December 28.
Taking to Twitter today, Ant and Dec said they were “very sad” to hear of Adele’s death.
They wrote: ”We are very sad to hear of the passing of Adele Rose, the creator of #BykerGrove.
“She was an incredible lady and a wonderful writer.
“We will always be grateful for what she did for us and the North East.

Many of the duo’s 6.8 million followers flocked to their post to send their condolences.
One user wrote: “She will be missed, a lovely compassionate lady with a great sense of family. RIP Adele.”
“Oh no so sad to hear this, rest in peace Adele. Thank you for giving us Ant and Dec,” a second commented.
