Cara Delevingne calls Ashley Benson 'the love of her life' in sweet tribute

Two days after finally letting the world into their year-long romance, Cara Delevingne has declared Ashley Benson her ‘true love’.

The actress and model stood up on stage at the TrevorLIVE New York Gala and said that Ashley showed her what ‘love’ was when she ‘really needed it’ in 2018.

And, revealing her sweet nickname for her girlfriend, Cara said he ‘Sprinkles’ has also helped her to love herself in the year that they’ve been together.

In an acceptance speech for the Hero Award, Cara said: ‘I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are.

‘She’s one of the people who helped me love myself when I need it most and I really needed it.

‘She showed me what real love is and showed me how to accept it, which was a lot harder than I thought. I love you, Sprinkles.’

*And the room let out a collective, awww.

TrevorLIVE is The Trevor Project’s bi-annual galas celebrating their mission to end LGBTQ youth suicide and last night’s event falls in the middle of Pride month.

The couple attended the event together on Monday, looking smitten at the dinner table together after posing separately on the red carpet.

Cara has already kicked off her Pride month in a suitably noteworthy style by confirming her relationship status with the Pretty Little Liars actress on Instagram.

The model uploaded a video of her passionately kissing her partner with the caption ‘#PRIDE @ashleybenson’ and a bunch of rainbow and heart-eyes emojis.

At Monday’s event, Cara explained how the romantic gesture had more significant than we even first thought.

In an interview with E! Online, Cara said: ‘It is Pride, it’s been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don’t know, it’s been just about our one year anniversary so, why not [post it]?’
