Celebrity Chef Alton Brown Says He’s a Conservative, Fires Back at Fan Who Is Disappointed

Celebrity chef Alton Brown, who rose to fame on the Food Network with his show Good Eats and has a large fan base, revealed that he has voted Republican most of his life and is a conservative.

“I have voted Republican most of my life. I consider myself a conservative. I want to believe there are still “very fine” people on both sides of the aisle but…if #GOP leaders don’t get their collective noses out of that man’s ass, we’re gonna have words,” he tweeted this week after the election.

A fan responded to him and wrote, “…and I really liked and still like your shows. You made me a better and more adventurous cook. I’m not angry….just incredibly disappointed.”

Alton responded directly, writing, “Frankly, you have no right to be disappointed in me. None whatsoever. I have used my own platform to speak my mind. You may dislike me, certainly but disappointment in me should be reserved for say…bad recipes.”

It’s important to note that it appears as if Alton is not a fan of Donald Trump after once tweeting an article about removing him from office with the caption, “I am posting this not because I want to be political but because it deeply touches my own personal history and that of those I love.”
