Darius Campbell Danesh's ex wife Natasha Henstridge has paid a touching tribute to the star as she broke her silence over his shocking death on Tuesday.
The singer, who rose to fame after appearing on Pop Idol in 2001, was found dead aged 41 on 11 August in his US apartment in Rochester, Minnesota. His cause of death is unknown at this time.
Darius and Natasha, 48, were married from 2011 until 2018. The Canadian actress said she has “no words” as she penned a loving message in honour of her ex-husband, beside a series of photos of the pair together.
Natasha wrote: “I have found the paradox that if you love until it hurts there can be no more hurt — Only more love – Mother Theresa.
“There are no words Darius…only Love Love Love. Forever Janam.”
One of the photos the actress shared showed herself and Darius beaming as they sat with her two sons with her ex-husband Damian Chapa, Tristan River, 23, and Asher Sky, 21, whom Darius was stepfather to.
A couple of other snaps saw the pair smiling in the sun as they posed around London’s main attractions during a couple’s trip, and a fourth picture showed the pair looking happy on their wedding day.
Darius and Natasha tied the knot on Valentine’s Day 2011 at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, after five years together.
The pair filed for divorce in 2013, however they reconciled briefly three years later. Darius and Natasha finally got divorced in 2018.
Speaking on their relationship, Darius previously told the Scottish Herald: “That relationship was certainly not without its ups and downs. Over the course of 12 years, we broke up many times and had a period of six months apart.
“It was often a long-distance relationship for half of it. That in itself was an amazing experience, but a painful one. When you love someone you want to be with them.”
It was announced on 16 August by Darius’ family that he had passed away.
They said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh. Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners' office.
"The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.
"We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother."
Darius’ sudden death comes as it was reported he was due to return to the UK for a Pop Idol reunion, joined by the other stars of the show.
