Woody Cook, 20, is the son of Zoe Ball, 51, and Fatboy Slim, 58, with the couple splitting in 2016. Woody has opened up in a new interview about his sexuality and his “confusion” about the subject.
I was so confused for so long.
The 20-year-old reality star announced he was bisexual back in January 2019 ahead of him appearing on Channel 4 reality series The Circle.
Speaking to Attitude, he said: “Mate, I was so confused for so long.
“One day I would think, I really want to get with a guy. I’d kiss a guy, then a few days later, I was, like, ‘why did I do that? What have I done?’
“I was at a party flirting with a girl, I thought we were about to kiss, and she said, ‘It’s a shame you’re not a girl, or I’d be getting with you right now.’”
He continued: “I said to her, ‘Oh, I’m bisexual.’ I woke up thinking, why did I say that? Then it was, like, holy crap… That explains a lot!”
It was not only Woody that was confused about his sexuality, as his mother Zoe was not sure at first.
Woody said his mother fell into the cliche trap of people that accuse bisexuals of not being honest about their true sexuality and ignoring what they are actually saying.
He said: “I’ve had people say to me, ‘Oh, you’re just saying you’re bisexual because it’s trendy,’ and I’m, like, ‘No, my sexuality is not a bloody trend!’
“My mum was, like, ‘You can’t be. You like girls.’ I said, ‘Er… yes, that’s what bisexual is.’
“I pointed out that some of our family friends were probably bisexual, which she didn’t really think about before.”
Woody revealed in October that he had been cut off financially from both of his parents, in a bid to make him “self-sufficient”.
Zoe and Norman are reportedly worth a staggering £35 million, with Zoe being one of the highest earners at the BBC, excluding Gary Lineker.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Attitude Awards, he said: “My parents have cut me off completely.
“They are like, ‘Do you want to be a trust fund child or do you want to work?’
“I want to work, so I am now self-sufficient.”
He added that he does not have a student loan whilst at university, so sometimes really struggles but he is getting through it.
Woody proudly admitted: “I am doing it all by myself.
“The other day I couldn’t afford bread, but I’m working through it.”
He still, however, “gets off his nut” at home when he can, interrupting his mother when she gets up early for work.
Zoe and Norman married in 1999 at Babington House in Somerset after meeting at Radio 1 and have two children together.
Woody was born on December 15, 2000, and their daughter Nelly was born on January 14, 2010.
