Daniel Brocklebank, 41, sparked concern amongst his co-stars and Coronation Street fans alike when he sent out a worrying tweet. However, the reassurance from his followers caused him to follow up with a second tweet yesterday to shed some more light on the situation.

The Corrie star tweeted a simple message to his 108,000 Twitter followers on Sunday, which read: “I’ve had enough”.

The words understandably left a lot of people concerned for the actor’s wellbeing, especially as he chose not to elaborate.

The star was subsequently inundated with supportive tweets from his friends and his fanbase.

Some people sent him snaps of the things that usually make them smile in an effort to cheer the star up.

Daniel’s followers posted pictures of their beloved pets, photos of flowers, and one even proudly showed off some of their freshly baked cake.

He even received comforting messages from co-stars such as Catherine Tyldesley, who wrote: “I’ve got you love.” (sic)

Daniel has played Billy Mayhew in Coronation Street since 2014.

Catherine, 38, played Billy’s close friend Eva Price, before leaving the soap in 2018.

Rachel Leskovac, who portrayed the recently departed Natasha Blakeman on Corrie, also told Daniel that she was “sending him love”.

The tweet received 342 replies in total, causing the actor to eventually respond to everyone’s kind words yesterday morning.

Offering some more insight into what happened, Daniel wrote: “Thanks for all of your lovely messages.

“They’ve restored my faith in humanity hugely.

“Yesterday was particularly testing but today is a new day.

“Big love to you all,” the Corrie star concluded with a heart emoji.

Daniel’s character Billy has been at the centre of some huge storylines in Coronation Street over the years.

The character was once engaged to Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and is also the adoptive father of Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby).

When Daniel joined Coronation Street as a kind-hearted vicar in 2014, there was backlash from some traditional Christian groups who had a problem with his character’s sexuality.

Daniel has also received some homophobic abuse on Twitter in the past.

Aside from his work on Coronation Street, Daniel is also known for his roles in Emmerdale and Shakespeare In Love.
