Denise Welch, 63, has fumed on Twitter due to not agreeing with Richard Madeley’s, 65, exit from I’m a Celebrity. The Loose Women star said she was “gutted” to see Richard go early, not understanding why he couldn’t have just done a Covid test.
Speaking in view of her 490,700 followers, Denise penned: “Richard Madeley has to leave I’m a Celebrity!!!
“Gutted !! Why can’t they just test him and let him back tmrw??? #imacelebrity.” (Sic)
Richard has had to leave I’m a Celeb due to “leaving the camp” breaking the show’s strict Covid safety rules.
The Good Morning Britain presenter went to the hospital after becoming unwell in the middle of the night.

Fans of the show took to the comments to tell Denise what they thought about Richard’s swift exit due to the show’s “strict” Covid rules.
JanetSm65426256 said: “He was one of the best in there. Won’t be the same now he’s gone.”
Hogroasting added: “Seems like they’re not trusting of the PCR tests…absolutely crazy.
“Didn’t even know that ‘covid bubbles’ still exist.”
Alan_Henning commented: “I like him, disappointing that he’s not being allowed back in.
“I agree with someone above who said test him, if he’s clear, let him back in.”
Richard has since released a statement, explaining why he has had to leave the show.
He said in the statement: “Hello all! Richard here – firstly just to say that I’m absolutely FINE.
“I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the Covid ‘bubble’ and as such I’ve had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in camp.
“Obviously I’m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.”
He continued: “I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue..
“Even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer than Gwrych Castle.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me on my brief but completely unforgettable adventure – I’ve made some great friends and honestly had the time of my life.”
A spokesperson for the show said: “Our strict covid protocols means Richard has sadly had to leave the show as he is no longer in the bubble the celebrities form when entering the castle.
“He has been a truly brilliant campmate and we thank him for being part of this series.”
