When it comes to drama in Katie Price’s life, it never rains but it pours. And her recent “week from hell” was no exception.

Her eldest son Harvey, 18, – who suffers with Prader-Willi syndrome – was hospitalised after suffering an “extremely dangerous” reaction to the Covid-19 vaccine.

Katie, 42, then received the devastating blow that she is now registered disabled after breaking both her feet after a horrific fall in Turkey last summer.

The star learned that she will never be able to wear heels again or walk for more than 20 minutes. She also caused a storm on social media when she fumed at a woman for sending saucy videos to her partner Carl Woods on Instagram.

Two days later, Katie seemed downcast when she appeared on Good Morning Britain with her mum Amy, via video link, to talk about her terminal lung condition. Amy admitted she is in the final years of her life.

And later, Katie revealed her mum has just 32 per cent lung capacity, and called her condition “cruel”. “It’s been a week from hell,” a source tells new magazine.

“She says bad things always happen to her in one go. Thankfully, Harvey was fine in the end and able to leave hospital.

"But Katie has been speaking to medical professionals about putting protocol in place to monitor vulnerable children for 24 hours after they receive the vaccine.

"Her disability diagnosis was hard to hear. She knows life will never be the same again. When the world goes back to normal and she’s invited to a red carpet, she’ll want to be in huge heels and it will really hit her then.

"She’s always been able to lean on her mum so that’s obviously tinged with sadness given Amy’s health condition. Due to coronavirus, they haven’t seen each other in months. It’s painful to hear her mum talk about death.”

But sources say the star – who celebrated a year of sobriety this month after a rehab stint in 2020 – has been leaning on boyfriend Carl Woods for support.

new's source reveals: “Carl hates Katie’s Jordan persona and likes her natural so he’s said he doesn’t care if she can’t wear heels any more. He’s reassured her that he finds her sexiest in a tracksuit and trainers.

"This is the first time Katie has felt safe in a relationship. He gives her his social media passwords so she can respond to women who slide into his DMs. She feels like there’s no secrets.”

Katie was showered with praise from viewers after starring in the documentary Katie Price: Harvey And Me, which explored the difficulties the pair would face as Harvey – who was recently named an ambassador for Mencap charity – goes into adulthood.

And sources say the positive feedback has boosted her confidence and made her realise her worth goes beyond looks.

“When Katie was younger, her self-worth was hinged on how attractive people found her. But she’s evolving now and realising she’s more than looks," they said.

"She’s a great mum, very determined and brave. She’s said that a few years ago she wouldn’t have been able to survive a week like she’s just had. But now she realises her strength.”
