Love Island shock as fan-favourite couple dumped from villa just before final

Love Island fans are now just two sleeps away from the final episode, but one couple's time in the villa will be cut short before then.

In Friday's instalment on ITV2, Will Young and Jessie Wynter, Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins, and Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan were informed that they'd landed in the bottom three of the cast's vote for compatibility, meaning their dreams of snatching the £50,000 cash prize were in danger.

Now, a source has told The Sun that it's a fan-favourite couple who are given the boot by the public on Sunday evening.

Following the initial result, Love Island fans couldn't quite believe that neither Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga, nor Tom Clare and Samie Elishi received any votes from their fellow Islanders.

"You’re telling me no one voted for Shaq and Tanya??" read one tweet after these scenes had aired.

"No one voted for shaq and tanya??? is everyone okay?" and "HOW did tanya and shaq and samie and tom get NO votes???" questioned two more viewers.

Meanwhile, the previously on-the-rocks Will and Jessie had a beautiful time together this week in what marked their last date in the South African sunshine.

They headed inside a decorated barn to engage in a toe-tapping barn dance, before toasting their blossoming romance.

Looking every bit the cowboy, Will admitted that he'd fallen head over heels for Jessie during their brief relationship, and even compared their date to the dynamic between his farm-owning parents.

"It's like a massive reminder of home because my mum and dad would talk about barn dances and I've never been to one, so experiencing it with you is such a magical moment," he beamed, which inspired Jessie's own sentiments.

"I’ve had the best time here with you," she told Will. "I didn’t think I'd meet someone that I'd fall in love with so hard. You've been so supportive of me the whole way through, I want you to know how special you are to me."

Elsewhere in the villa, Ron and Lana seemingly upped their PDA over the last week or so after being accused of lacking any sexual chemistry by fans of the show.

One suspicious viewer later wrote: "Not Ron and Lana being affectionate suddenly. Usually they're fast asleep by now".

"If Ron and Lana were likeable people they could even win in a friendship couple or at least come 2nd to Kai and Sanam but they are forcing this romance" and "It's NO. SECRET Lana n Ron have no chemistry. They act like brother n sister. Ron leading that poor girl on. And yes they're all fake," read another couple of claims from viewers not convinced about their romance.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 until the final on Monday, March 13.
