Lucy Alexander, 52, was among millions watching Oprah Winfrey’s highly-anticipated interview with Prince Harry and Meghan on Monday evening, and during the two-hour program she wrote down her thoughts on Twitter. But the former Homes Under The Hammer presenter found herself getting a little bit of push back after what appears to be a misunderstanding over her opinion of the chat looking “staged”.
Omg standing in the chicken run collecting fresh eggs… it’s all too staged
In one of a series of tweets, Lucy penned: “Omg standing in the chicken run collecting fresh eggs… it’s all too staged.
“I will say Oprah is b****y well doing a great job #HarryandMeghanonOprah,” she added.
It seems that Lucy was commenting on the set-up of the interview itself and not the content, something that others were convinced the Royal couple had contrived for their own benefit.
Taking to the comments section, one fan sent Lucy a friendly heads up that her words maybe taken out of context.
“I think you need to be careful on what’s said, bearing in mind you don’t know anymore than anyone, but WAY more people see what you say and some may just believe it. It doesn’t seem staged at all, not compared to reality TV,” they wrote.
Another was a little more harsh, snapping: “Of course it is. its tv. you are a tv professional its how it works. What did you expect. Don’t be mean Lucy it’s how we all got here.”
A third joked: “Yes. Even the chickens are in on it.”
But others understood what it seems like she meant, with one agreeing: “It’s like a reality (ie fake) TV show.”
Someone else penned: “My thoughts exactly Lucy.”
Elsewhere during the show, Lucy revealed he was “shouting at the telly”.
She also admitted: “Feel so sad now watching this.. Harry’s getting all blotchy & flustered #HarryandMeghanonOprah.”
Elsewhere, fans were pleased to see the TV star on the BBC property show last week, but mistook the repeat episode as her official return to the program.

And Lucy, who left the programme in 2016, had to disappoint.
One fan wrote: “So lovely to see you on TV Lucy today, you’re looking more beautiful.”
Another asked: “U back permanently Lucy?”(sic)
“Omg is this you returning to HUTH?!” a third hoped.
The mum-of-two soon clarified: “Repeats sadly!”
Lucy left the show five years ago after 13 years at the helm.
She appeared on screen for an additional two years due to the nature of the filming schedule.
Home Under The Hammer airs weekdays at 10am on BBC One.
