Portugal. The Man have shared a new version of their song “Feel It Still” to encourage Americans to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
“The world doesn’t work when we’re operating at 36%. Everyone needs to show up and vote in this election,” they sing in a stripped-down “36% Is Not Enough” version of their 2017 hit song.
The remix retained only 36 percent of elements from the original lyrics, and only 36 percent of visuals from the original video.
Stephan Gray did the video editing of the remix by Sean Harvey.
The band tries to bring the attention to the fact that only 36 percent of eligible U.S. voters in the age group of 18-29 cast their vote in the 2018 midterm elections.
“According to the Census Bureau, only 36% of eligible voters ages 18-29 voted in the 2018 midterm election. Now imagine if we did everything 36%. What would 36% of a song sound like? What would 36% of a video look like?? You have to imagine no longer – we made this to show you. The world doesn’t work when we’re operating at 36%.
Everyone needs to show up and vote in this election,” the rock band explains in a description that accompanies the new video.
