Prince Harry Is "Frantically" Asking Netflix to Postpone Docuseries Until 2023

Quick update on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming Netflix docuseries: things appear to be kinda tense between the Sussexes and producers. Mostly because Meghan and Harry reportedly want the project delayed until 2023, whereas Netflix allegedly wants to drop it next month. Awk times.

The Sun reports that Harry’s team has “been frantically asking Netflix to postpone the production” with an insider saying “Harry simply does not want it coming out before Christmas.” This means the series could drop around the same time as Harry’s memoir, Spare, which comes out on January 10.

TBH, there’s been a lot of conflicting stories when it comes to the Sussexes’ docuseries. Back on October 17, Deadline reported that backlash to alleged inaccuracies in The Crown had caused Netflix to delay the series until next year—with a source saying “they’re rattled at Netflix, and they blinked first and decided to postpone the documentary.”

But then Page Six reported that the show was going to drop in December, with a “highly placed industry insider” revealing “as far as I am aware, the docuseries is still going ahead later this year.”

Meanwhile, Netflix gave this statement to Deadline reminding everyone that they’ve never even said a docuseries is actually happening, lol: “There’s never been any documentary from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed.”

On top of all this, there’ve been persistent reports that Meghan and Harry want to edit the show, with one insider telling Page Six they were having “having second thoughts on their own story, on their own project,” and another saying they “are panicked about trying to tone down even the most basic language.”

Honestly, all this drama has is only making me want to see this docuseries more…no matter when it drops.
