This morning, Steph McGovern, who fronts the popular Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch, was fighting the remnants of her hangover as she made her way to work. However, the presenter, who was also jokingly branded a “dirty stop out” by her team, was in good spirits as she shared a video to her Instagram Stories for her 66,200 followers.
My partner was honestly killing herself laughing at me last night when I got home
“Finally my hangover has eased!” she exclaimed, filming as she walked.
“I cannot tell you how rough I felt yesterday – like, my partner was honestly killing herself laughing at me last night when I got home after work.
“Why do we do it to ourselves?” she groaned.
The former Irish dancer turned financial journalist and presenter had been checking out the Strictly Come Dancing tour in Leeds, followed by a boozy celebration afterwards.

She confided in her followers: “The Strictly tour is brilliant and if you get a chance to go, you definitely should – they’re at Newcastle tonight.”
Still suffering with a fragile head and the dazed look to prove it, she confessed: “Looking better than I did yesterday, although still not brilliant.
“I am gonna need a lot of make-up!”
However, the skills of the cosmetics team seemed to have worked a treat on yesterday’s episode, as the radiant and immaculately dressed star showed little signs of the gruelling night she had been through the night before.
“Behind that face full of make-up is a woman hanging from drinking too much last night,” she wrote when she posted a snap to Instagram.
Naming and shaming a list of offenders who’d been with her, she added: “I mainly blame @aljazskorjanec and @saradaviescc although producers @matt22scott @jessforrester @jessicaaltodd also played a part!!
“And the vicar!! @revkatebottley And the judge!! @craigrevel
“I am now going to lie down in a dark room. #strictlytour.”
Strictly 2021 star Sara Davies quickly responded, confessing: “Yeah I guess guilty as charged! So glad I didn’t have to get up early and go on TV today!!”
Meanwhile, Jess Forrester swiped back: “Wish I could say I looked like this today…”
Earlier, she had been teased relentlessly by her TV team for her hungover state, as show bosses had scrawled the words “Dirty Stopout” on the corner of her briefing notes, accompanied by a heart.
However, Steph took the teasing in her stride, sharing a copy of the defaced notes to Instagram, plus images of herself partying with a star-studded group of revellers.
These included Dragon’s Den star Sara and notoriously tough Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood.
The party continued when she got into work, with Strictly 2021 finalist John Whaite dancing around the studio to the classic track ‘Feelin’ Good’, while clutching a potted plant.
“Standard day at work,” she jokingly captioned the footage.
She also posted a video slide of chef Jack Stein arriving with her “rider” – a selection of pot noodles, which may have been the start of a hangover recovery technique.
Steph’s partner, a female BBC executive who she shields from the spotlight, will likely not have a reason to mock the now fresh-faced star the next time she returns home.
