Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell has defended judge Shirely Ballas and told fans of the show to "be kind".
The Australian professional dancer, 33, released a statement on her Instagram page earlier today, October 6.
In the statement, she said: "Firstly thank you guys so much for all the support on our dance last night. It was a tough week but I am forever in awe of the hard work and dedication Tyler brings every single week.
"Another point I want to address is I have seen a lot of hateful comments aimed at Shirley for simply adding an a to the end of my name which doesn't offend me, but what does make me upset is seeing someone being bullied online."
She continued: "We are all human and doing the best we can. Let's all please be kind to one another and not put each other down.
"Once again thank you for all your positive messages it really does mean a lot to us all."
Gorka Marquez commented four clapping emojis, while Claudia Winkelman simple wrote three love heart emojis.
Katya Jones wrote: "Be kind", while Fleur East added a love heart emoji.
It comes after viewers were left distracted during the latest instalment of the BBC show as Shirley, 62, repeatedly called Dianne by "Diana". Some even suggested that it was a weekly mistake.
During Saturday's show, Dianne and celebrity dance partner Tyler West performed an elegant Viennese Waltz to I’ve Been Loving You Too Long by Seal for their routine, where they scored 29 points.
Craig Revel Horwood said the dance was a bit "too pedestrian" and felt their transition needed to be "more graceful", but praised Tyler's dancing ability.
While Anton Du Beke added that the couple dance together "beautifully", but said the DJ needed to work on his top line to keep improving.
However, it was Shirley's feedback that left viewers at home complaining as she called Dianne by "Diana".
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "I do think it rude of Shirley calling Diane, Diana #Strictly."
A different account put: "OMG WILL SHIRLEY PLEASE RESPECT DIANE AND NOT CALL HER DIANA… SO RUDE #Strictly @ShirleyBallas."
Another follower wrote: "@ShirleyBallas please call Diane by her proper name. It’s not Diana-she’s been there long enough and so have you It’s just plain rude now, every week. #Strictly."
While a different viewer added: "Bit rude getting Diane’s name wrong..#Strictly."
It isn't the first time Shirely has been the target of online abuse. She recently revealed that relentless trolling about her judging on Strictly has left her so fragile she has booked three weeks off to tend to her mental health.
