Olivia Wilde's new movie, Don't Worry Darling (she's stepping behind the camera to direct again), is already getting attention with its cast. It's starring the best Hollywood Chris, Chris Pine; Florence Pugh; Gemma Chan; and modern-day Renaissance man Harry Styles. And although the set got hit with a COVID diagnosis and had to halt production, that major bummer got tempered with some very good news. In order to fit into the film's 1950s suburban utopia, Styles trimmed his sometimes-unruly hair and if Twitter's reaction is any indication, it was a very, very good move.
Deadline reports that the movie "is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert," so Styles's James Dean taper cut, with its clean side part and shiny, slicked-back shape fits right into that mood.
Styles was snapped while on set and although his pastel joggers, tie-dye-logo shirt, and sneakers don't quite fit into the midcentury feel of his hair, fans were losing it over his dreamboat makeover.
Several Twitter users called it Styles's best look, ever, which is a high compliment when his track record includes custom Gucci, pearl necklaces, and twinning moments with Rachel Green.
Don't Worry Darling should be back in production soon, which means fans should be seeing plenty more of Styles's throwback look. But like all good things and Harry Styles hairstyles, it won't be around long, so fans should enjoy all the peeks they can until the movie comes out.
