Meghan Markle latest news – 'Arrogant' Duchess will NEVER talk to family again 'because she thinks they're beneath her'

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have been blasted for giving their new daughter the "rude" and "demeaning" name Lilibet.

Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, who shares Her Majesty’s family nickname, arrived at 11.40am on Friday in California.

Royal biographer Angela Levin was among the first to slam Harry and Meghan's sentimental move, telling Good Morning Britain "I don’t think it’s a good idea – I think it’s quite rude to Her Majesty Her Queen".

"It was a very private nickname from her husband who hasn’t been dead for very long… Prince Charles would never dream of calling his mother Lilibet," she added.

HARRY AND MEG HAVE ‘DONE NOTHING BUT SEEK PUBLICITY’ FORMER PALACE AIDE CLAIMS

Despite asking for privacy and sensationally stepping down as senior royals in 2020, the Sussexes haven’t attempted to step away from the public eye, it’s been said.

Dickie Arbiter, the Queen’s former press spokesman has suggested that Meghan and Harry have done nothing but seek publicity since they stepped down from the Royal Family.

The pair have constantly tried to stay in the public eye, despite their pleas for privacy while living in the UK.

But it’s now time for them to “put up and shut up,” he said.

    LILI’S LIFE

Meghan Markle hinted how she will raise her new daughter Lilibet Diana years before welcoming the tot.

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, shared a powerful poem on her old Instagram page before being a royal about vowing to never call her daughter “beautiful”.

The poem, written by African-American poet Nayyirah Waheed, speaks to a daughter and says it is not her beauty that will guide her through life but her self-confidence.

It says that “knowing your worth” as a person “can save your life.”

The poem states that “every being is born beautiful” and “beauty is a given”, but raising someone on beauty alone will “starve” them and make them “raw” and “weak”.

The poem first appeared in Nayyirah’s 2013 collection Salt, but Meghan shared it with followers in 2017; the year before she married Prince Harry.

    BID FOR PEACE

Meghan Markle is reported to have made “secret calls” to Kate Middleton in a bid to patch things up with the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex is claimed to have reached out to her sister-in-law because she is her only chance of “smoothing things over” with the royals.

Meghan and Harry have given a number of jaw-dropping interviews about their family in recent months, with Meghan now said to fear losing her title as a result.

A source told Heat Magazine: “Meghan’s fearful of losing her title, and the repercussions of Harry’s statements about the Royals in his recent Apple TV+ documentary with Oprah Winfrey.

“She’s secretly reached out to Kate, as she knows that the only hope they can have of smoothing things over with the family is to get Kate on their side.”

    LILI-WHAT?

A woman has revealed she too was named after The Queen, like Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet, but claims the moniker gave her “bad nicknames” and she is forever correcting people who say it wrong.

American director, producer and writer Lilibet Foster has carried the unique name for more than 50 years – and now she’s revealed some of the issues with the royal moniker.

Speaking to news.com.au, Ms Foster expressed her thoughts on the incredibly unique name, and how it’s almost impossible for people to pronounce it properly.

“Choosing a name for your child is a big commitment,” she said.

“There are those parents who want a completely unique name that few others will have, and those who don’t want a name too unusual for fear that their child will be teased.

“I’ve never met another Lilibet and have always enjoyed explaining that I’m named after Queen Elizabeth II and her nickname.

“Sure, hardly anyone pronounces my name correctly, I’ve spent a lot of time spelling it, and I’ve been called several bad and embarrassing nicknames.”

INSIDE THE SANTA BARBARA HOSPIATL MEGHAN GAVE BIRTH

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter Lilibet to the world at a Santa Barbara hospital where it costs a staggering £20,000 to give birth.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born just ten minutes from the couple’s mansion at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on June 4.

The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1888 by a group of 50 women from the area who “recognised it was time for the growing community to have a hospital.”

It’s believed that the Duke and Duchess’ pal and neighbour Katy Perry gave birth to her daughter Daisy at the same hospital last August.

The hospital says it has a staff of more than 600 physicians and the hospital welcomes 2,400 babies every year.

CHARLES VISITS LIFEBOAT COLLEGE TO SEE CAPSIZING DEMONSTRATION IN WAVE TANK

The Prince of Wales has visited the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) College to witness its lifesaving training as the charity prepares for thousands of people to flock to the beaches during staycations this summer.

Charles watched a live demonstration by lifeboat trainers and volunteers in the Sea Survival Centre in Poole, Dorset.

He saw an exercise involving the righting of a capsized inshore lifeboat in a wave tank, with simulated thunder, lightning and darkness.

The prince heard of the challenges the RNLI has faced during the pandemic, as it kept operational throughout, saving 349 lives last year.

Stuart Popham, RNLI chairman, said: “Our committed volunteers have maintained a 24/7 rescue service throughout the pandemic and today was an opportunity for the prince to personally thank some of them for their dedicated service.

“We are expecting another busy summer as more and more people flock to the UK and Irish coastlines and His Royal Highness’s visit will help raise the profile of our services and how the public can keep themselves safe.”

    ROYAL TOUCH

The Queen paid tribute to her late husband Prince Philip during her first public engagement since becoming a great-grandmother for the 11th time.

In her first appearance since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their daughter Lilibet, The Queen was seen taking part in a video link from Windsor Castle and proudly wore a brooch given to her as a wedding gift by Philip.

It was a touching nod to her husband, who died aged 99 in April.

The diamond and ruby butterfly brooch was given to her by Philip back in 1947 when they tied the knot.

Such a personal piece is rarely worn by The Queen, with the 95-year-old monarch last donning the beautiful brooch in 2019 for a church service held in Sandringham.
