YMC Mixes '80s London With the Beat Generation for FW20

U.K.-based label YMC has followed up its Yogi Footwear collaboration by revealing its Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Mixing references to London in the mid 1980s with nods to the Beat generation, the collection also sees YMC look to an imagined, pastoral view of post-Brexit Britain.

Referencing this theme, the label has taken influence from tacky tea towel designs, chintzy upholstery and tablecloths. Another stand-out reference point is the MA-1 flight jacket, which has been reworked in a number of ways. Other outerwear items — including the parka and duffel — nod to the classic style of the Beat generation.

Elsewhere, the label has revealed a series of partnerships with street artist Pref, sock label Royalties Paris, New York’s Bags In Progress and London Undercover. Rounding off the collection, YMC has returned to some of its signature items from each season with new fabrics such as Italian Prince of Wales check wool and luxurious goatskin.
