At home with Holly Branson… and it's very normal indeed!

At home with Holly Branson! Billionaire’s daughter offers glimpses of the unexpectedly low-key London pad she shares with husband Freddie and three children – from the unmade beds to the cluttered kitchen counter

  • Holly Branson, 39, oldest daughter of Sir Richard Branson and his wife Joan, lives in London with her family
  • Despite being the daughter of a billionaire, shes decided to give her children a relatively normal upbringing
  • She shares six-year-old twins Etta and Artie and two-year-old daughter Lola with husband Freddie Andrewes
  • Holly has won praise from followers from her lockdown snaps of homeschooling and days in front of screens

From the unmade bed to the cluttered kitchen counter, these photos could be taken of almost any family home.

So it might surprise you to learn that these modestly decorated rooms belong to a woman whose father is worth £3.625billion.

Holly Branson, 39, the oldest daughter of Sir Richard and his wife Joan, lives in London with her ship broker husband Freddie Andrewes and their three children: six-year-old twins Etta and Artie, and daughter Lola, two.

Unlike other heiresses whose families are similarly wealthy, Holly has chosen to give her children a relatively normal upbringing – although they do enjoy getaways to their grandfather’s private island.

Working from home! Holly shared a photo of her desk covered in bits and pieces – including a bobble hat, empty water glass and a fruit and nut bar – as she joined colleagues at Virgin for a virtual Christmas party

Look who it is! Holly’s youngest daughter Lola points at her grandfather Sir Richard on the screen as they watch Don’t Look Down, the 2016 documentary about his attempts to break world records flying in a hot air balloon

The mother-of-three has won praise from her followers (she has 96,600 on Instagram) for her lockdown posts about homeschooling, remote working – she is Virgin’s Chief Purpose & Vision Officer’ – and the struggle of keeping children busy at home

Snaps show the children having tea parties with their stuffed animals, cuddling up in front of the TV, and ‘cleaning’ the windows with wet wipes.

In an Instagram snap taken on a Tuesday morning last month, Holly is seen sitting on the living room floor on her laptop while one of her children is watching something on an iPad next to her, headphones on.

’11am – pyjamas are on – the screens are out… One of those days!,’ she wrote in the caption. It struck a chord with other parents, with one mother writing: ‘Thank god you have them too, you have just made me feel a lot better about myself.’

Understated: Photos reveal a simple, pared back interior design style. Pictured, the large white sofas in the living room

Practical living: The open plan kitchen has space for a dining table, where the twins had a lesson with their grandmother Jill before lockdown restrictions changed. Holly’s Instagram page regularly offers homeschooling tips to parents

Last week Holly took a selfie showing her standing on her unmade bed wearing tracksuit bottoms and a dressy black top. She wrote: ‘Verified Eight hours of back to back video calls today… Business on top, pure comfort on the bottom. Excuse the messy bed!’

The background of the photo offers a glimpse at Holly and Freddie’s simple, traditional taste in interior design. There is a simple whitewashed wood dresser and a grey and white heart print on the wall.

A similar pared back scheme is seen in other areas of the house too, with white sofas in the living room and a white family kitchen.

Her husband of nine years Freddie rarely appears in the photos, Holly couldn’t resist sharing a snap to mark his most recent birthday.

She means business! Etta joined her mother in the home office to watch ‘papa’ Richard Branson on a Virgin video call

The couple began dating when Holly was 18 after meeting at a mutual friend’s birthday party. They waited 11 years before tying the knot on Sir Richard’s Necker Island in December 2011.

The wedding took place in the ruins of the Big House on Necker after it was destroyed in a fire a few months previously.

Holly has spoken of how she went through ‘difficult and distressing’ years trying to conceive, revealing she had gone through two failed rounds of IVF, suffered two miscarriages and had considered surrogacy and adoption before falling pregnant with the twins.

Etta and Artie were born in December 2015. Youngest daughter Lola was born in December 2018.
