Fearne Cotton is no stranger to a bold hair look, having opted in the past for various pastel shades, but her new pink shade might just be her boldest colour yet.
The former Radio 1 presenter and Happy Place podcaster updated her 3.4 million Instagram followers on her new hue, and though you might not guess at first glance, Fearne’s makeover actually has a very special meaning.
“Gone pink in honour of my mate Lyndell. I’m thinking of you Lyndy and promise to seek the colour and fun in life always,” she explained in the caption.
Fearne revealed earlier this month that her close friend and hair stylist had sadly passed away, and paid tribute in a heartfelt post.
"Lyndell, I’m not sure I’m going to find the words here. It’s all too heavy. I’m not sure I’ve ever met a more vibrant, beautiful, positive soul in my life,” she wrote.
“When I picture you you’re dancing. Hair bouncing with your megawatt grin. I have the most wonderful memories of drinking tea in your kitchen whilst you used your innate skill to cut and colour my hair from bright pink to white blonde."
Fearne has since uploaded a few more snaps showing the pink hair in all its glory. Just earlier today she appeared in a grid video where she pairs the fuchsia with a matching shade of eyeshadow. If that wasn't quite enough pink, she also opted for a rose-coloured jumper.
Fans were quick to compliment the 40 year old on her colour, and to also offer condolences for her loss.
"Wow! You are truly rocking it for her," said one, while another commented: "Loving the pink, your friend would be very proud of the hair style."
Fearne will be able to nip to a hair salon for a pink refresh whenever she needs it, which is something she couldn't do for her previous colour change back in April, when we were only just coming out of a lockdown.
The star took to Instagram to share a snap of the results of her first post-lockdown transformation, which saw her sporting a creamy blonde shade from root to tip. She also opted for a chic, mid-length cut with feathered layers.
“I’m not shy when it comes to doing the inner work in the quest to feel happy, but sometimes just simply getting your hair done really lifts the spirits,” she wrote.
We couldn't agree more, Fearne.
