App orders are also encouraged, so customers can order and eat their favourites without leaving their table.

To accommodate social distancing, Maccies fans can also expect limited seating in some cases.

All customers will be asked to wear a face mask when entering the restaurant, unless they are exempt.

McDonald's will continue to offer a limited menu, but it said it's planning to extend it as well as its opening hours over the coming months.

How to find your nearest McDonald’s

MCDONALD’S has just under 1,300 branches across the UK.

To find your nearest one, you can use the free McDonald's restaurant locator tool.

Enter your postcode and the webpage will bring up your nearest branches.

Or if you're using the app, you'll be asked to enter your postcode to find your local McDonald's.

It comes as Boris Johnson confirmed this week that restaurants and pubs will be allowed to reopen for indoor service on Monday.

McDonald's has remained open for takeaway, delivery and drive-thru during lockdown, but customers haven't been able to sit inside since January.

On April 12, McDonald's then reopened more than 400 outdoor seating areas for hungry customers.

To find the opening hours of your local branch, simply check McDonald's restaurant locator tool or download the free app.

McDonald's is yet to confirm how many branches it has in England and Wales, and we'll update this article once we hear back.

The move follows Scottish McDonald's restaurants, which reopened for dine-in on April 26 while rules in Northern Ireland don't yet allow it.

Paul Pomroy, chief exectuive of McDonald’s UK and Ireland, said: "We are delighted to be re-opening our dine-in areas.

"Monday is another big step forward for both England and Wales, and we’ll be thrilled to see our customers dining-in and enjoying their meals with us – we know they have been eagerly waiting to get back.

"As the country starts to open back up more fully – so are we."

This week, Maccies added five new items to the menu, including the Chicken Deluxe and Bacon Clubhouse Double burger.

The new additions replaced five other McDonald's menu items, including two versions of the Big Tasty and the Chicken BBQ Smokehouse.

The fast food chain also axed the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry and the Cadbury Caramel McFlurry from May 4.
