Periods are a hot topic, from the fightback against the controversial tampon tax to the environmental call to switch to reusable alternatives.

And there long gone are the days when the only options were tampons and sanitary towels. Nowadays there are a multitude of alternatives on the market, from menstrual cups to reusable sanitary pads.

Taking this a step further is the latest trend in washable period underwear, designed to be leak proof and worn without any other form of protection. Joining brands such as ModiBodi, Thinx and even M&S, Primark are the latest store to launch their own range of period underwear.

And with so many benefits we just cannot wait to try them for ourselves to see if they are worth the hype. After all, they are better for the environment *and* our finances…

Primark’s new range of underwear has been specifically designed to ensure the ultimate absorption, whilst reducing any odour. Plus they can be easily washed and reused.

Crucially, they can also be worn for up to eight hours whilst holding the flow equivalent to three tampons.
