‘World’s most tattooed pensioner’, 72, covers 98% of body in jaw-dropping ink

Meet the 'world's most tattooed pensioner' who has covered himself from head to toe in ink.

Wolfgang Kirsch looks a lot different to your everyday OAP as body art sprawls across 98% of his body.

The 72-year-old has a whopping 86 tattoos and 17 implants under his skin.

Some of these dermal piercings are magnetic, which is why Wolfgang also goes by the nickname Magneto.

In total, the body modification fan has forked out $30,000 (around £21,500) on his transformation.

It’s taken more than two decades to achieve his look, including 720 hours in tattoo studios and 240 different sessions under the needle.

Wolfgang, who is from Prenzlauer Berg in the German capital, was determined to celebrate his individuality “after the fall of the (Berlin) wall”.

Even though tattoos were frowned upon in society – and also in his career as a post office employee – he decided to start getting inked in his 40s.

The body mod fan said: "In GDR [German Democratic Republic or East Germany], tattoos were frowned upon and unthinkable for post office employees.

“It wasn't until I was 46 years old that I got my first tattoo, a tear under my eye."

Wolfgang’s love for tatts grew and now the only body part he hasn’t covered is the soles of his feet.

The inking enthusiast has no regrets and enjoys standing out from the crowd.

He said: “On the street, people ask me for autographs and want to take photos with me.”

According to local media reports, Wolfgang is the "most tattooed man in Germany".

He’s also likely to be the pensioner with the most body art as he’s also been recognised as “the most tattooed man in the world over the age of 70”.
