GONZALO HIGUAIN will return to Juventus after 'not enjoying' his loan spell at Chelsea, says Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian coach revealed in his unveiling that the Argentinian striker, 31, will not make a permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge this summer, after disliking his time in England.

During his unveiling at Juventus Sarri said regarding Higuain: “He is a Juventus player, so when he returns from vacation, we’ll have the opportunity to talk.”

When asked if the player would remain in Turin, the former Napoli manager said: “It depends on Gonzalo because I get the feeling he didn’t enjoy the post-Juventus experience and was a little shaken after that season, these things happen.”

Despite clearly experiencing a tough time on the pitch at Chelsea though, Sarri believes Higuain still has plenty in the tank.

The new Juventus boss said: “If he can get a strong reaction, he can play another three to four years at a high level.”

MAURIZIO SARRI has aimed one final swipe at Chelsea by describing them as a team of individuals compared to his cohesive former side Napoli.

During his official unveiling as Juventus' new coach on Thursday morning, the Italian said: “Chelsea is a team made up of players, probably who have a higher technical level but with individual characteristics.

“They have players who play on the flank, want to play one v ones so from that point of view, the football they play is less fluid, less smooth.

“Compared to Napoli where they could all play well [together], at Chelsea there were seven or eight players playing individualistically. They were effective, solid and that was so not so easy to defeat.”

FRANK LAMPARD celebrated his 41st birthday on a boat – which happened to be nearby Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his yacht in French Riviera.

His wife Chrstine posted a snap on Instagram of the Derby boss spending his birthday in the sunshine posing on a boat as they holiday in South France.

The pair are away in St Tropez with Lampard leaving the country heavily linked with the vacant Chelsea job after Maurizio Sarri joined Juventus.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has his £380million superyacht Eclipse moored in the French Riviera resort, where the Blues legend is on holiday with his family on the Cote D’Azur — which translates as Blue coast.

The two men will hold talks which will see former Chelsea midfielder Lampard confirmed as Sarri’s successor next week.

EMERSON PALMIERI insists he’s happy at Chelsea despite reports linking him and Jorginho with a switch to Juventus to follow Maurizio Sarri.

The 24-year-old Italy defender has started just 29 games in all competitions for the Blues since joining from Roma in January 2018.

But he said on TalkSport: “I’m happy at Chelsea, we won the Europa League and I am calm.

“I haven’t received any calls, I am happy here. There is nothing to say, I am focused on Chelsea.”
