MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal should head the queue to sign Gary Cahill, according to ex-England defender Danny Mills.
Former Man City star Mills claims centre-back Cahill, 33, is fit enough to play “two thirds” of the next Premier League season after his Chelsea. exit.
He also believes Cahill is “not far behind” Blues legend John Terry for offering defensive presence overthe past decade.
Mills told talkSPORT: “If you want someone to come in to play two thirds of the games next season, and also bring professionalism, experience and be someone players can learn from on and off the pitch – he can add all of those things to the club.
“It’s a no-brainer to take him. He’ll just want to play and be a part of it.”
“The likes of Arsenal… and why aren’t Manchester United interested? They’re desperate for a centre-half!”

ARSENAL have beaten Tottenham to the signing of William Saliba for £27million plus add-ons – but will spend the 2019-20 season back on loan at St Etienne.
The deal has been reported as done by French journalist, Laurent Hess, who also confirmed the finer details of the deal.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham have spent the last few weeks attempting to outbid each other, but the Gunners have ultimately prevailed.
Some reports have claimed the two sides were forced to bump their offers for Saliba, 18, up to around £36m.
However, Hess has now said the fee is set at £27m, with future incentives.
The latest revelation comes less than a day after Saliba admitted he would prefer a move to Arsenal – with St Etienne favouring Spurs.
