ARSENAL are braced to suffer another transfer blow with defender Joachim Andersen appearing to favour a move to AC Milan.

The Gunners were plotting a £37million double raid on Sampdoria for both Andersen and midfielder Dennis Praet.

Boss Unai Emery was ready to put all his eggs in one basket after being handed just a £40m summer transfer budget.

But it appears he may need to get back to the drawing board following Andersen's latest comments.

Sampdoria's current boss Marco Giampaolo is on the brink of being announced as the new AC Milan manager.

And it appears the 23-year-old defender is ready to follow his gaffer should the opportunity arrive.

“He told EkstraBladet: “I haven’t read much in media about Giampaolo leaving, but I’m happy for him.“I’m also a little disappointed as he’s leaving.

“If I dream of joining him? I can’t respond to that and I don’t know my future, but Milan is a great club.”

United have a number of centre-back targets on their transfer shortlist including Ajax's Matthijs De Ligt and Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly along with PSG full-back Thomas Meunier are also on Solskjaer's radar.
