Chelsea star Thiago Silva to sign new one-year contract extension in coming weeks but Antonio Rudiger's future in doubt

THIAGO SILVA is set to sign a new Chelsea contract, according to reports.

But the Blues could be about to lose Antonio Rudiger.

Both defenders are set to be out of contract at the end of the season.

Club chiefs have been busy trying to negotiate extensions with the duo.

According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Silva's deal isn't in doubt

He adds that the Brazilian will extend his stay until June 2023, and only formalities now stand in the way.

Rudiger, however, is proving more difficult to extend.

The German, 28, is attracting plenty of interest from around Europe.

Romano adds that there has been no change in Rudiger's situation, with negotiations at a stalemate.

While he is yet to find an agreement with Chelsea, Real Madrid are 'pushing' to seal a free transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

Silva and Rudiger aren't the only Blues defenders that are set to be out of contract.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen also have their deals winding down.

The former is attracting interest from Barcelona.

But the latter is expected to stay.
