    TRIPP UP

Kieran Trippier has told England team-mates he is keen to secure a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are considering a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid ace as they try to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the 30-year-old is the ideal player to strengthen his defensive options and also provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.

And though he has been a big hit in Spain, it appears the ex-Tottenham man is excited about the prospect of a switch to Old Trafford in his native North-West if the opportunity arises.

    SAN-GO

Manchester United are reportedly set to finally land Jadon Sancho – for nearly £30million less than he'd have cost last summer.

The Red Devils have long wanted to sign the England star, having been wowed by his performances in the Bundesliga.

But Dortmund dug their heels in last year, demanding £108m.

United refused to match their asking price and Sancho stayed in Germany.

This time around, however, the Red Devils look set to finally secure their target.

According to The Mirror, Dortmund will accept £81.5m for the 21-year-old.

Manchester City are set to receive £12.25m from the deal, having included a 15 per cent sell on clause when Sancho moved to Dortmund as a 17-year-old.

    KEEP CALM & HARRY ON

England stumbled to victory in their last game before the Euros – but thankfully the best is still to come from Gareth Southgate’s side.

Southgate criticised the team’s limp display against Romania but with six days until their big kick-off the Three Lions look set to step up a level.

Jordan Henderson got better as the game went on in his first game for three months while Harry Maguire is back running to boost the defensive options before the Croatia clash.

    GOOD MORNING UNITED FANS

Kieran Trippier has told England team-mates he is keen to secure a move to Manchester United, SunSport’s Duncan Wright has exclusively revealed.

The Red Devils are considering a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid ace as they try to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

The ex-Tottenham man is excited about the prospect of a switch to Old Trafford in his native North-West if the opportunity arises.

Another rumour links United with a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the Belgian international but now United have been mentioned as a potential destination for the player.

According to Belgian journalist Sven Claes, United want to sign the player and one of the elite Spanish teams are also said to be keen on the player.

Claes also tips Tielemans’ value to be at around £55million.

And on the Jadon Sancho latest, United are reportedly set to finally land the winger – for nearly £30m less than he’d have cost last summer.

    LAZ CALL

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has confirmed that he wants to stay at Lazio following his season-long loan spell.

Since arriving in Italy last summer, the 25-year-old has gone on to feature in 33 matches, in all competitions, directly contributing to five goals, along the way.

However, with his loan contract set to end at the end of the month, Pereira is now preparing to return to his parent club back in Manchester.

Addressing his long-term future, while speaking recently to Tuttomercatoweb, the South American said: “Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga? They are super leagues.

"The English one is very physical, and as you can see, I don’t have the ideal physique. Joking aside, I loved playing in England; Spanish football is more my style of play.

“Future? I would like to stay and play for Lazio again, but this depends on the discussion with United and what they will want to do with me.

“I have a contract with the club; it’s like a second home for me. I have been there since I was 16; I always talk to the people who work for the club.”

    KIE TARGET

Kieran Trippier has told England team-mates he is keen to secure a move to Manchester United, SunSport's Duncan Wright has exclusively revealed.

The Red Devils are considering a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid ace as they try to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

The ex-Tottenham man is excited about the prospect of a switch to Old Trafford in his native North-West if the opportunity arises.

The former Burnley defender remains central to Atleti’s plans having been instrumental in helping Diego Simeone’s side to the LaLiga title.

But United believe they can persuade the Spaniards to strike a deal if they come up with a bid in the region of £15million-£20m.

    READY TO SPEND BIG

Man United will spend big in Ed Woodward’s last transfer window as chief executive.

That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire.

He said: “I think the Glazers are looking for a safe pair of hands as their next chief executive, somebody that they know and trust.

"So it’s likely to be an internal appointment with someone who has the focus on looking things from a financial perspective.

“So I don’t see anything radically changing, especially if it is Richard Arnold, who is the favourite.

“What is more likely to be a radical driver of change is that Man United have scored own-goals in terms of being behind both Project Big Picture and the Super League.

"The Glazers have an awful lot of making up to do. So I think there’s a case for saying that the Glazers will take the hand off the brake in terms of recruitment strategy.

“They are also fully aware that Chelsea and Man City could spend big this summer, and they know they’ve got to keep up with them."

    BRUNO BANTS

Manchester United star Amad Diallo aimed a cheeky dig at team-mate Bruno Fernandes after his stunning free kick for Ivory Coast.

The 18-year-old marked the second appearance for his country with the winning goal to open his Elephants account.

Amad shared a clip of the goal on his Instagram page, picking up more than half a million views in hours of publishing.

But it also got the attention of United team-mate Fernandes, with the midfielder jokingly criticised the teenager’s free-kick technique, writing 'but you did it wrong' in Italian, adding an embarrassed emoji and laughing emoji.

The new Old Trafford star had a cheeky dig of his own, responding 'But you taught me.'

    KING'S RANSOM

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their hunt of Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman, as Thomas Tuchel has reportedly set his sights on the winger.

United have been linked with Coman in the past but the France international’s stalling contract talks in Germany has sparked fresh interest from Solskjær’s side but they will face stiff competition from Chelsea.

According to Bild Tuchel’s reputation and Bundesliga connections puts his Chelsea side in advantage, as opposed to Manchester United, who are believed to be prioritising a move for Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

It is also claimed that funds could prove to be an issue, as any potential deal could entail a fee up £50 million upwards.

United are well stocked in forward positions and should they complete a deal to bring Sancho to Old Trafford, it is unlikely that they will pursue Kingsley Coman.

    OFF THE MARC

Marcus Rashford has described the feeling of captaining England for the first time as 'unexplainable'.

Rashford wore the armband as England beat Romania 1-0 at The Riverside in their final warm up game ahead of Euro 2020, with the attacker marking the occasion by scoring the only goal from the penalty spot.

Rashford wrote on Twitter: "I’ve always been in the mindset that you don’t need an armband to be a leader on the pitch but I can’t lie, this feeling is unexplainable. Thank you England what an honour."

    ONE EYE ON WINKS

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is open to selling Harry Winks this summer as talks with Manchester United emerge, according to Stretty News.

Levy’s mind is said to be made up, with the chairman now open to selling him, and he could demand in the region of £25m.

Amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba, Manchester United are apparently targeting the Englishman and it is believed that the Red Devils recruitment team are ‘big admirers’.

Indeed, as per this report, United could look to capitalise on Winks’ uncertain future in north London.

    RASHFORD DEFIANT

Marcus Rashford said England's players will continue to take the knee despite some supporters again booing the players before the match against Romania.

The Three Lions were in action in Middlesbrough for the second time in a week as they ramped up their preparations for Euro 2020, and just as against Austria on Wednesday, some supporters booed the anti-racism gesture before the match.

The Manchester United striker scored England's only goal of the game from the penalty spot, and when asked about the booing after the match said:

"It's something that we can't control, and for us we believe it's the right thing to do so we're going to continue to do it."

    YOURI THE MAN

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the Belgian international but now United have been mentioned as a potential destination for the player.

According to Belgian journalist Sven Claes, United 'want to sign the player and one of the elite Spanish teams are also said to be keen on the player.

Claes also tips Tielemans' value to be at around £55 million and it is uncertain whether Liverpool or United could afford that given the extent of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Premier League clubs.

    NATION'S DARLING

Marcus Rashford captained England for the first time today in their Euro 2020 warm up match against Romania.

And the 23-year-old marked the occasion with a second-half goal from the penalty spot.

He is the 11th player to be granted the honour by Gareth Southgate.

Captain Harry Kane was rested for Sunday's match, allowing Rashford to don the armband in his 41st England cap.

Luke Shaw also featured in the match as did transfer target Jadon Sancho, but Harry Maguire was absent once more.

    POGBA IDOL

Paul Pogba believes N’Golo Kante has already become an indispensable member of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea squad.

And the Manchester United star even believes he should beat icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

Pogba believes his French teammate has been so impressive he deserves to win football’s most coveted individual prize.

He told Eurosport: "What I would like to say to the whole world is that the ‘NG’ we have seen in recent months has always been the same.

"We talk a lot about his performances but he has always been as good as ever.

"There was no Cristiano and Messi in the semi-final [of the Champions League], so it's good to see the performances of the midfielders or even the defenders.

"I said a long time ago that it would be appropriate, if Chelsea won, for him to win the Ballon d'Or. It would be deserved too.

"He's always performing well. I'm not surprised what he's doing, I'm just surprised that he's still doing it. He has always played matches like that."

    'HIT WORST OF ALL'

Manchester United have probably lost around £150m because of the pandemic, says football finance expert Kieran Maguire.

According to Maguire, Tottenham, who were scheduled to have NFL fixtures and concerts taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, have also probably taken a hit of about £150m.

On the subject, the author of The Price of Football told This Is Futbol:“It really varies very much from club to club dependent upon the capacity of the stadium.

"Spurs and Manchester United would probably have lost about £150m each.

“Spurs make about £800k in catering money from every match and, of course, they’ve got the NFL fixtures which aren’t taking place. They were supposed to be having concerts taking place.

“So I think Spurs and Manchester United would have been hit worst of all.”

    DAN THE MAN

Daniel James has admitted he has not yet reached the level he is capable of after a difficult 2020/21 season.

The Welsh international featured just 26 times in all competitions for United last season — which is 20 less appearances than he made in the 2019-20 campaign.

But he believes he is already getting better, telling the club's official website: "I’m developing every single game. I’m learning.

"I reflect on every game and every season I’ve played, whether I’ve played zero minutes, whether I play all the games, I think I’m always learning.

“For me, I’m nowhere near my potential and I just want to keep improving.

"It’s been different. It’s been hectic. We know the fans are behind us from home, but it’s just not the same.

“You just want to hear that roar when you’re running with the ball. It’ll be something that will be great to have back. I think they’re missing it just as much as we are. I hope soon we’ll get it back when everything’s safe.”

    RED ROM

Manchester United are preparing a £39million bid for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero, according to reports.

The Italian side are reportedly planning to make his loan from Juventus permanent for £21.5m before cashing in on his services.

According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta will take up an option in the 23-year-old's loan deal to sign him permanently.

The fee is believed to be £21.5m – but some rumours suggest it could be as low as £13.75m.

Reports claim the Serie A side will then look to sell Romero for €45m – around £39m – and make a huge profit.

And the Red Devils are said to be leading the race for the Argentina international's signature.

    DOR CLOSED

Manchester United, City and Chelsea have reportedly been dealt a major blow in their pursuits of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

All three Premier League giants, as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona, have been heavily linked with the Norwegian ace.

But Dortmund are determined to keep the 20-year-old for another year.

According to AS, the German giants have slapped a £172million (€200m) price tag on their talismanic forward.

Should Haaland stay for the upcoming season, a release clause a little under £70m will activate next summer.

Man United relieved their need for a new No9 by re-signing Edinson Cavani for next season.
