March Madness is nearly upon us and with it the dreams of 68 teams competing to see who is the best.
Could a team from Colorado take home the biggest prize? Oddsmakers don’t think they’ll have a great shot.
The Colorado Buffaloes have the 27th-best odds at +5,000 — meaning a $100 bet would win $5,000 — to win it all, according to BetMGM. A far cry from the favorites in Gonzaga (+275) and Baylor (+300). Sportsbetting.com gives CU the 21st-best odds at +5,500. One good thing for the Buffs: ESPN’s John Gasaway released his list of the 349 teams that won’t win the title. Colorado isn’t among the group.
Colorado State, who’s widely considered to be on the bubble, has even greater odds from BetMGM at +25,000, tied for 74th with programs such as DePaul, Georgetown and St. John’s. CSU isn’t listed on sportsbetting.com.
