2.30 ALBANY STAKES
- A top-three finish last time is important, a win all the better
- Look for horses with one or two career runs
- A double-figure draw is a plus
- Having their first run at Ascot
WINNING last time out has been a major pointer to the Albany Stakes so we’ll stick with horses that tick that box.
That means putting a line through Alabama Whitman, Aroha, Back To Brussels, Celtic Beauty, Exclusively, Fleeting Princess, Galadriel, Get The Look, Jm Jackson, Lorelei Rock, Moon Of Love, Paper Star, Precious Moments and So Wonderful.
Separate joins them because she has had too many runs heading into the race.
It has proven difficult to win this from a single-figure draw so Diligent Deb, Kemble, Nayibeth and Seraphinite have plenty on their plate. A very high stall has also been a negative and Exceptional and Lil Grey have that burden today.
None of the past 10 winners ran on the all-weather last time so Chili Petin and Last Surprise are overlooked.
That leaves us with a shortlist of three — Daahyeh, Graceful Magic and Silent Wave.
Of those, DAAHYEH has the strongest form heading into the race and is the right sort of price for an Albany winner.
