Danni Menzies was in La Mata on Spain’s Costa Blanca in a recently aired episode of A Place in the Sun. The Channel 4 expert was looking to find the dream holiday home for Glenys but the guest was left emotional at the end of the search after being told to “go away” and have a long think before deciding what she wanted Danni to do next.
Glenys hoped to find a two-bedroom property within walking distance to the beach.
She had a budget of £140,000 but was prepared to go up to £170,000 for the perfect place.
Glenys brought along her close friend Martine to help her decide which property was the right one for her.
The guest quickly ruled out the first offering but was pleasantly surprised by the second – a more traditional apartment.

However, the property’s location proved to be too much of a problem for Glenys who felt it wasn’t close enough to the coast.
Danni’s third offering was a stone’s throw away from the beach in a modern apartment block.
Taking a look around, Glenys commented: “ I don’t get a warm fuzzy glow, I couldn’t see myself here like I could with the other property.”
“It’s not got the wow factor and I don’t know why,” she stated. “Not like the other place did.”
“But you’ve written that one-off,” Danni protested and Glenys explained: “Cause it’s nearly half an hour to the beach.”
Luckily, Danni was able to find an apartment that offered everything Glenys had wanted for the final viewing.
“You’ve struck gold here,” Glenys observed in the property’s communal pool area.
“I’ve checked we’re 300 yards for the beach,” Danni confirmed before revealing it was on the market for £130,000.

“I wasn’t expecting this I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this,” the guest commented once inside the apartment.
“You’ve saved it to the last one,” she added and the expert said: “Thank goodness.”
After taking a look around the property, Danni warned: “So we feel like this could be it?
“You need to go away let it all sink in because it must feel like a bit of a blur, sleep on it and we’ll well catch up tomorrow.”

Glenys later confirmed she wanted to put an offer in on the final property but noted she wanted to put a price forward that reflected the work that needed doing in the apartment.
Her first offer was rejected by the owner agreed to lower the price to £129,560 which included all of the upgrades she wanted.
After accepting the owner’s counteroffer, Glenys wiped tears from her eyes while Danni asked: “Are you feeling emotional?”
“Yes very emotional,” the guys replied and the expert added: “You have your very Spanish house!”
A Place in the Sun airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 3pm.
