There was a tense atmosphere on A Place in the Sun when Jonnie Irwin completely failed to please a guest who compared a property in Bulgaria to a "box".
Sarah fell in love with the country 30 years ago and was hunting for a holiday home in Tryavna but only had a budget of £40,000, as shown in Monday's episode (June 7).
The writer and former English teacher was looking for a traditional and quirky three-bedroom house and was horrified when Jonnie showed her something that looked like it could have built in the 1970s.
It was on the market for £39,488 and right in the heart of Tryavna, with two bedrooms and a separate annex that had views of the garden.
Sarah, along with her best friend Suzie who came along to help out, could not hide their disgust and openly told Jonnie what a disappointment it was.
Leading them into a room, Jonnie says: "OK ladies, well this, believe it or not, I don't think is your bedroom. This is potentially the living room."
Sarah says: "It's a good size but there is no quirk factor, I feel."
Her pal then rips into Jonnie, saying: "This is not Sarah. It's just a box."
A Place in the Sun guest halts viewing as he says he wants to 'go home'
Jonnie tried to save the viewing by pointing out there was merely a partition wall separating the next room, so it could be easily be opened up.
"You might consider knocking through this room and to the next one, let me show you."
Suzie says: "Even if you knocked it through you've just got a bigger box."
Fortunately, things quickly looked up for Sarah when Jonnie showed her the next property, a five-bedroom house in Dimiev Khan valued at just under £28,000.

The house was packed with original features, including a wood-burning stove, and Sarah began to cry with joy while she looked around.
It had signs of damp and Jonnie warned her she would need a survey done.
Despite clearly falling in love with the cottage, Sarah ended up making a more practical choice with a house closer to Tryavna.
She put in an offer of £32,000 and the sellers asked for an extra £700, which she gladly accepted.
