Britain's Got Talent star PC Dave Wardell was left in tears during tonight's live final after making an amazing announcement on Finn's Law.
Dave has been campaigning with Finn for greater protection to service animals after his faithful pooch nearly died while stopping a suspect with a knife.
BGT finalists Dave and Finn wowed the judges and audience with another incredible routine demonstrating their magical powers of telepathy.
At the end of their performance, Dave announced that the Queen had signed off on Finn's Law.
He said: "After our first audition aired the Queen stayed up late one night and she signed off on Finn's Law. So on June 8, Saturday next week, Finn's Law becomes a law."
Presenter Ant McPartlin then revealed that they had a surprise in store – and got the vet that saved Finn's life to stand up.
Dave was left in tears as he applauded the heroic vet, who stopped his dog from dying from stab wounds.
In October 5, 2016, Finn detained a suspect who attempted to jump over a fence and was stabbed in the chest.
The German Shepherd Finn sustained serious stab wounds to the head and chest but refused to let go of the offender.
Finn nearly died from his injuries but made a miraculous recovery and amazingly was back on duty just 11 week after the incident.
After retiring in March 2017, the pair have been campaigning for greater protection to service animals and more prosecution powers.
Following their final performance, Simon Cowell said: "I really hope you do well tonight. I love you and I’m absolutely in love with Finn. He's adorable."
David Walliams added: "With the law being passed you’re winners already."
And Amanda Holden said: "The most important thing is Finn’s law and you highlighting and promoting that is amazing."
Britain's Got Talent viewers took to Twitter after watching the emotional performance.
One fan said: "Omg how cute is Dave for crying when he realised the vet was there. Your love for your dog is unbeatable"
"Absolutely LOVE Dave and Finn. Get really emotional watching them. Such a wonderful and loving bond they have," added another.
A third agreed: "OMG Finn, Dave and their vet made me so emotional!"
