Coronation Street's Brooke Vincent on pregnant body: 'I hated how I looked'

Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has opened up in a candid new interview, revealing that her pregnancies affected her confidence levels.

The actress, who portrayed Sophie Webster on the ITV soap, discussed what it was like for her being pregnant, recalling that she ‘hated’ how she looked at the time.

‘I was pregnant in the summer, and I was huge,’ she said.

‘I fully indulged and I think I couldn’t see the baby at that point. So all I could see was: “My arms were really big, I can’t wear that top. I can’t wear that dress because my bump’s now really big. My legs are now really big”.’

‘I didn’t have it in my head that there was an aftermath. There’s so many different pressures that you put on yourself in pregnancy, but really, it didn’t matter.’

Brooke explained that, after giving birth, she didn’t want to wear anything she had worn while previously pregnant because she recalls ‘hating’ how she looked.

‘I didn’t want to wear anything that I had worn while pregnant, even down to the trainers, because I just hated how I looked pregnant,’ she said on Made By Mammas podcast.

‘People just underestimate how carrying a child can make you feel and how it can knock your confidence.’

‘I was on social media at the time and there were a couple of people in the public eye that were pregnant the same time as me, and I was like “I look nothing like that”. I didn’t understand it. I’m like: “Are they on a diet whilst they’re pregnant? Why are they so tiny?”

Brooke left Coronation Street in 2019 to go on maternity leave. She welcomed Mexx with partner Kean Bryan on October 23 of that year.

In November 2020, the soap star confirmed that she was pregnant with her second baby, and in May 2021, she gave birth to another son, Monroe.
