Corrie fans outraged as Lucas hits on Carla after Peter’s horrifying collapse

Coronation Street viewers were outraged while watching Wednesday's episode as Lucas Kempton hit on Carla Connor after Peter Barlow's scary collapse.

Recovering alcoholic Peter was recently left fighting for his life as he collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital.

His girlfriend Carla was left terrified she would lose him, but her friend Lucas has continued to ask her out throughout the scary ordeal.

Fans were left outraged when Lucas asked Carla to go to Devon with him while Peter was lying in a hospital bed next door.

One viewer tweeted: "Wtf are you doing here Lucas get out".

While another wrote: "How many times is Lucas going to try and take Carla from Peter?"

A third added: "How is this guy trying it on at the hospital?!?"

"Not Lucas turning up at the hospital to 'see how Peter's doing' but then asking Peter's girlfriend to move away with him…"

Carla was tempted by Lucas' offer as she's been struggling to cope with Peter's battle with alcoholism.

Steve McDonald found Barlow in a bad way during Tuesday's episode and he was convinced Peter had relapsed.

However, Peter continued to insist he hadn't had a drink.

Carla went to see Peter when he'd woken up in hospital and he told her: "They've done tests.

"That will prove that there was absolutely nothing in my bloodstream".

However, Carla began to cry as she said "maybe you're lying".

Peter replied: "I haven't fallen off the wagon…", but Carla said: "Sorry I can't do this."

Viewers went into meltdown on Twitter, devastated as they urged Carla to stay with Peter.

One said: "Noooooooooooo. #CORRIE DON'T DO IT CARLA".

While another wrote: "Oh Carla don’t leave Peter as he hasn’t been drinking".

"Excuse me my heart can't take this and now I've got to wait half an hour", added a third as they anticipated what could happen in Wednesday's second Corrie episode.

Yesterday, Steve McDonald thought Peter had been drinking when he found the character doubled over in pain.

Peter told Steve he was sober and needed medical help.

However, Steve didn't believe him as he said: "Sober, you can't even stand up, I'm going to have to lock you in for your own good while I go to work."

Steve said: "Look at the state of you how can you do this to yourself, enough of the lies, you could live another ten or twenty years and Oliver…"

Peter said: "Who's Oliver?", forgetting the name of Steve and Leanne's son who had tragically died on the soap.

Steve fumed and said: "What did you just say, we're finished, if you want to drink yourself to death the first bottle's on me."
