Corrie reveals Kate Connor's dramatic exit storyline?

It’s no secret that Coronation Street fans will soon be forced to say goodbye to Kate Connor as Faye Brookes makes her exit as the popular character – but will Rana Habeeb’s killer Gary Windass (Mikey North) have a hand in her departure? Is he set to force her to leave if she discovers Rana’s true fate?

Kate was left broken when she lost her soulmate in the factory collapse disaster which orchestrated by Gary on her wedding day. Gary sabotaged the structure, not intending to kill anyone, but his actions turned Kate’s life upside down.

Recent reports suggested that Kate would be killed off – however, this has been denied by Coronation Street who have confirmed that the door will be left open. But fans are naturally hoping that Kate at least discovers the truth about what really happened to Rana before she departs.

With Gary’s villainy set to be a long term Coronation Street arc, he will do anything to keep his criminal actions a secret – but will Kate be led to the truth with the help of Imran (Charlie de Melo) who refuses to give up?

And if Kate does make the horrifying discovery of the truth, will Gary be forced to drive her out of Weatherfield for good – and how ruthless is he prepared to get to save his own skin?

Faye’s final scenes will air later this year.

Speaking about her exit, she said: ‘Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it’s time for me to explore new opportunities, I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new. (sic).’

Other departing actors include Lucy Fallon as Bethany Platt, Kym Marsh as Michelle Connor and Tristan Gemmill as Robert Preston.
