Corries Emma devastated as Curtis leaves the cobbles forever after Steve money twist

Emma Brooker was left devastated on Wednesday's Coronation Street as Curtis Delamere left the cobbles "forever".

Only recently on the ITV soap, Curtis was wrongly arrested at his wedding to Emma after Steve McDonald thought he had stolen his £100k for Oliver’s charity fund, which later turned out to be a "technical fault".

And on Wednesday's episode, Emma, who still thought Curtis was guilty, asked him to leave before realising that he was telling the truth and that he hadn't stolen the money.

After frantically trying to track him down, Emma later showed up at her father Steve's home as she declared: "Congratulations, your little plan worked… I went to the tram stop to see if I could find him but it's too late, thanks to you – he's gone forever!"

The episode ended with a devastated Emma, who declared she would never forgive Steve, sobbing by herself over her heartache.

Viewers were left devastated for Emma as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Totally heartbroken for #emma #corrie @itvcorrie" followed with a heartbroken emoji.

A different account put: "Emma #corrie @itvcorrie @asmardell27," followed by sobbing emojis.

Another follower commented: "Just let Emma be happy with Curtis. #Corrie."

While a different soap watcher added: "Poor Emma! #Corrie," with sobbing emojis.

Earlier this week, it looked as though Curtis was going to do a runner with Steve's £100k for Oliver’s charity fund.

Curtis, who recently admitted he had factitious disorder and wasn't dying from a heart condition, made matters worse when he was seen booking flights before his wedding and packing a suitcase just for himself.

After realising that the money was missing, Amy Barlow decided to tell her father that Curtis had been lying about his health so far as they made their way to the wedding.

Just as Curtis, who showed up late, and Emma were about to say "I do", Steve showed up with police officer Craig Tinker as he arrested the newcomer.

Curtis continue to insist that he had transferred the money and after he returned home from his arrest, he told Emma that he had booked a holiday for their honeymoon and hadn't packed her suitcase as he didn't know what she wanted.

Emma didn't believe him as she ended things and headed over to her father Steve's home for the evening.

However, just before Emma entered, Steve received a phone call from the bank where they explained that there had been a technical fault and the money had been transferred.
