EastEnders fans were over the moon this week after one fan-favourite character returned to the Square after a two-month break.

During Tuesday's visit to Walford (March 14), infamous pub landlord Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) made his grand return to the BBC One soap.

The beloved actor has been missing from our screens since January after he took on a leading role in Plymouth's pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty during last year's final block of filming.

His seasonal role in the show ran from December through to January 14 at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and proved to be a big hit with fans.

But it's fair to say viewers were overjoyed to see the cheeky chappy back in the Queen Vic, after he gave a light-hearted warning to youngster Freddie Slater (Bobby Braizer).

After sharing his plans to post pictures of his feet on the hugely popular adult website OnlyFans for an eye-watering price, the wise pub owner advised him to be careful about how much he shared online.

He teased: "Freddie that is a slippery slope right there now listen to me. It starts off as pics of feet and then before you know it it’ll be [whistle noises].

"I do not want to see an international video of you in all your glory, alright?"

Freddie chuckled back: "Alright, one: that’s not how it works, and two: how old are you? If you ain’t a fan of easy money, then that’s fine but keep it to yourself alright?"

It didn't take long before fans flooded to Twitter to share their joy after watching the familiar face return to their screens once again.
