Janine Butcher (played by Charlie Brooks) is returning to Walford and EastEnders fans are eager to see what the stalwart soap villain will get up to. However, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) may want to be careful as Janine could be hellbent on causing trouble on the square which could lead to the pair dealing with a huge loss.

The BBC soap released a trailer teasing Janine’s return and upcoming autumn storylines.

In the clip Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) narrates as the Walford residents get on with their daily lives.

She says: “They say when the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

At this point, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and Kat are seen laughing together in the laundrette.

However, could this be a clue that Kat will “get going” when Janine arrives?

“Course we do, we look out for each other, we stick together,” Kim continues.

“At the end of the day, this community is part of us.

“We’re like one big noisy family. It gives us our jobs, our mates and not forgetting the best boozer in the whole world.”

“I’m telling ya, this square is where we all belong,” she adds while Janine drives around the square in a sports car.

Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) steps out into the road but is pulled back by Isaac Baptise (Stevie Basal) to prevent her from being run over by Janine.

“We’re grafters, we’re loyal, we’re family, it’s who we are,” Kim concludes.

One EastEnders fan cheekily pointed out: “She’s got form for knocking down Mitchells ya know!”

In 2009, Ronnie Branning’s (Samantha Womack) long lost daughter Danielle Jones (Lauren Crace) was killed after being run over by Janine.

Could Honey’s near-miss be a sign Janine’s murderous ways are making a return to Walford?

The soap villain arrives with her daughter Scarlett Moon (Tabitha Byron) who shares a father with Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).

Phil took Tommy under his wing when he started a relationship and business partnership with Kat, who also happened to be Janine’s enemy on the square.

Will history repeat itself as Janine accidentally runs over and kills Tommy?

BBC fans were thrilled to see Janine return in the autumn trailer and took to Twitter to comment.
