Emmerdale star Isobel Steele has revealed how she gets into character ahead of acting out drunk scenes in the ITV soap.
The actress portrays alcoholic Liv Flaherty, who recently found herself struggling with her addiction once again, in the wake of the barn explosion.
In order to get in character ahead of filming scenes which require her to act drunk, Isobel explained that she would ‘watch people’ and ‘do a few spins’.
‘I did do this storyline when I was 15/16 years old and I had no idea what I was doing,’ the star told Lorraine. ‘I would just watch people and do a few spins before I go on.
‘It’s difficult because there is a fine line between being way over the top or underplayed so that you can’t really tell, and everyone I feel like has an opinion on how drunk acting should be played.
‘It’s a bit nervewrecking but hopefully I am doing alright.’
Liv has recently sought solace in the booze once again, as she struggles with the guilt in the wake of Paul Ashdale’s (Reece Dinsdale) demise.
Paul died nearly two months ago, after Jimmy King (Nick Miles) crashed his truck into the wedding barn.
Liv managed to get herself to safety ahead of the barn exploding into flames.
Prior to the accident, Paul had heinously attacked Liv. After the truck came crashing through the walls, the abuser begged her for assistance to move the beam of wood that was preventing him from escaping.
Liv did as she was asked, but when Paul starting hurling abuse at her, she left him to die.
