Emmerdale villain Meena Jutla’s (played by Paige Sandra) manipulative behaviour seems to be getting worse after she killed Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger). In a sick twist, Meena also ended up stealing Leanna’s ring as a trophy for her crime. In recent weeks, ITV Meena has feared she was drifting apart from her boyfriend David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) as he was constantly preoccupied with his son, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant). Up until now, Meena has been able to keep her murderous streak a secret. However, in upcoming scenes she could be exposed by pregnant Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) after the actress who plays her teased what’s in store.

Leanna’s death not only rocked the village, but it also left her father Liam (Johnny McPherson) and his wife Leyla devastated.

In recent weeks, Liam has openly admitted he is struggling to sleep following his daughter’s death and so has started taking sleeping tablets.

In scenes that aired last week, Leyla also discovered she was pregnant, although she is yet to tell Liam.

Speaking about what her character would do if Leyla ever found out the truth, actress Roxy admitted: “Oh, she would try and kill her!”

She continued to Metro.co.uk: “I mean, she really would. One hundred per cent.

“We’ve already seen how she reacted with Maya, I think she would react exactly the same. I think she would absolutely try and kill her.”

Last week’s episodes saw Meena becoming even more jealous of David and Victoria Sugden’s (Isobel Hodgins) friendship after he offered to look after Harry, Victoria’s son.

Victoria was offered an afternoon shift at work, but she told David she couldn’t take it because of Harry.

David was quick to offer his childcare services as he seemed to forget he had already planned an afternoon date with Meena.

Meena was livid with David when he broke the news Harry was sleeping in their bed.

Although David admitted he was struggling to get the toddler to sleep after losing his favourite teddy bear.

“I’m so sorry, I can’t find it anywhere,” David told Victoria when she came to pick Harry up.

“No way,” Victoria replied. “I’m going to be in for a dreadful night.”

“Sounds like he really loves that teddy,” Meena said to Victoria. “Can’t bear to be apart. I do hope he turns up.”

Little did they know evil Meena had stolen the teddy and has hidden it away in her handbag, hinting she could be setting her sights on her next victim.

The latest instalment of the ITV soap saw Meena continue to plot against Victoria after she kidnapped Theo, David’s son.

However, it was all part of the nurse’s plot to cut Victoria out of David’s life for good.

Speaking in the shop, Meena asked David: “What were you thinking about?”

“Work,” David replied as Meena asked: “Was it about yesterday? You can’t still be worrying about Victoria?”

David explained he wasn’t worried about Victoria but was concerned about his son.

“It was my fault,” Meena admitted. “If Theo hadn’t got upset with me, Victoria wouldn’t have had the chance to lose him.”

“It was no ones’ fault,” David insisted. “It was an accident.”

The nurse continued: “He should feel comfortable with me. Maybe it’s a sign, I should be helping to look after him more.

“Wendy is back tomorrow so I am not going to be covering her shifts.

“So, we’re agreed then? I’ll help to look after Theo. I think this will be really good for all of us.”

Victoria is already growing suspicious of Meena, but how long will it take for her secret to be exposed?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
