Gogglebox fans celebrate Ellie Warners return as star teases wedding plans with boyfriend Nat

Gogglebox fans from around the country were quick to offer their messages of relief and support to sisters Ellie and Izzi tonight as they made they return to our screens after a short hiatus.

The pair had been absent since March, after Ellie’s boyfriend Nat Eddleston was struck down by a car while out on the town with friends in Leeds.

After the collision, Nat was rushed into intensive care with collapsed lungs and a broken neck as a result of the accident and, as of earlier this month, hestill remained on life support.

But his condition has now thankfully improved, with the sisters once again returning to Gogglebox on Friday night, with Ellie even speaking to Nat via the phone in a short clip that warmed the hearts of many fans tuning in.

The Gogglebox favourite joked about her partner's desire for a "shotgun wedding" as she sat alongside sister Izzi during her TV comeback.

“Great to see Ellie and Izzi back on Gogglebox tonight must have been a difficult couple of months for them and their family,” commented one fan.

While another added: “Awwww how lovely to see Ellie back Having a loved one fighting for their life in hospital is the absolute worst experience (I’ve been there, done that, wouldn’t recommend)”.

With a third commenting: “Aw I’m so glad for Ellie that Nat is recovering well! Nice to see her and Izzi back tonight! And Nat sounds on the mend! So happy for them!”

“To have an on screen interaction with Nat on #gogglebox is a proper nice touch so we all know he is ok. Well done @ellieandizzi," commented a fourth.

Countless fans were relieved to hear that Nat was doing better, but it was the return of the Yorkshire sisters that really struck a chord with many that had missed their presence on the show for the last two months.

“Hooray, Ellie and Izzy are back! I've missed those two! They're my favourite Goggleboxers,” added one fan.

A number of celebrity fans were also quick to applaud the pair’s return, withShaughna Phillipswriting: ”Yayyyyyyyy! We’ve missed you!", meanwhile ITV's Dr Amir Khan said: "Ah fantastic can’t wait to see you again, hasn’t been the same without you”.

The pair have been absent since Nat’s accident in the early hours of Saturday morning on the 19th March, when he was struck by a Seat Leon car while enjoying a night out with friends.

He suffered catastrophic injuries, which left the 31 year old fighting for his life in intensive care – but thankfully he now appears to be recovering.

After the incident, Ellie, who works as a hairdresser, asked for donations to the brain injury charity Headway for her birthday.

"For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Headway – the brain injury association," Ellie wrote on Facebook earlier this month.

"I've chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you'll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with me.

“Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I've included information about Headway – the brain injury association below.”

Ellie added: "Headway's mission is to promote the understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide vital information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.”

The man believed to be responsible for the collision wasquizzed by police last month.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that "the driver was questioned" after the incident, according toThe Sun.
