It seems one of the contestants may have already uttered the famous words though, as actor and comedian Babatunde Aleshe appears to have pulled out of his first trial. The Gogglebox star was seen with some fellow contestants standing 32 storeys high on top of the Focus building, and he didn’t seem to finish the terrifying plank task, which is a staple component of the hit ITV reality series.

Onlookers saw the comedian with footballer Jill Scott and journalist Charlene White.

After hosts Ant and Dec explained the gruelling challenge, which in previous years has seen the celebrities tasked with walking to the edge of the platform over the building and waiting for a specified amount of time before returning, there seemed to be a long pause.

The trio waited for 45 minutes before beginning the task, which could indicate someone had second thoughts.

Both women stormed to the end of a plank and as part of the revamped challenge called The Ledge had to wait before being tipped upside down.

The famous faces had to look down whilst holding onto a bar with their hands behind their backs.

Although Jill, 35, and Charlene, 42, successfully completed the task, Babatunde could be seen shuffling along his plank and then stopping and going back to the roof.

TV bosses examined the platform for issues but Babatunde didn’t return to the plank and could be seen with his head in his hands.

One onlooker told The Mirror: “Babatunde looked nervous before the challenge began and he never got going.

“He shuffled and stopped and left Charlene out on her ledge for several minutes.”

After that, Jill joined her fellow contestant on the plank.

By contrast to Babatunde, both women seemed to hang at the end on the ledge for several minutes as it became steeper and steeper before screaming as they dropped together.

The frightening challenge will be the first of many for the brave famous faces.

Filming began on Friday before the live shows from the Australian jungle begin on Sunday.

The celebs are being split into three groups and some will enter the camp after the first show airs on Sunday night on ITV.

The first challenge was known as Walk The Plank but has been made harder and is now thought to be called The Ledge.

ITV have been contacted for comment.

Fans of the annual show are anticipating the series, with the reality show returning to Australia for the first time since 2019.

The last couple of series were impacted by the Covid-19 travel restrictions and were instead filmed in Wales.

The upcoming series seems to have sparked a few headlines already, with former health secretary Matt Hanock’s casting causing a huge public backlash.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
