I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! fans have been left baffled during tonight's episode after Beverley Callard ate some custard creams biscuits.
The former Coronation Street actress, 63, who is a vegan, ate the biscuits after winning them during a Bush Tucker trial – although I'm a Celeb didn't confirm or deny if they were plant-based or not.
Coming back from the trial, which saw she and Shane Richie lying on their backs and being dragged back through very tight tunnels, the celeb pair were given the choice between taking back ready-salted crisps or custard cream biscuits to camp.
Beverley could hardly contain her excitement as she jumped up and down and shared her joy at the thought of sitting down to eat one.
After the stars brought the biscuits back to camp, fans began questioning if they were vegan or not.
One tweeted: "Beverly wanted custard cream although she is a vegan #ImACeleb."
A second commented: "Did bev just get excited about custard creams that aren’t vegan??? #ImACeleb."
"I just want to know how Beverly would eat custard creams if she’s vegan ?#ImACeleb," said another.
However, other fans rushed to defend Beverly and said they could be a vegan version.
One said: "They buy the home bargains ones which are vegan."
Another wrote on the social media platform: "Do the muggles not know you can get vegan alternatives?"
It comes after she was accused of faking her veganism in order to avoid the worst of the eating trials earlier this week.
She was voted to do a three-way eating challenge alongside Vernon Kay and Jordan North.
During the task, aptly called Frights of the Round Table, each celeb had to eat a range of grim things.
While Jordan had to eat fish eye and Vernon snacked on a cow's teat, Bev was given a range of fruits including the repulsively titled vomit fruit.
During the track, she let slip to hosts Ant and Dec that she "had only been vegan since March".
However, at the end of the show she was seen enjoying bread and butter with her campmates.
