BLUR and Oasis had the most memorable chart battle in history when they went head to head in 1995 – and now two of the nation’s most-loved pop acts are doing the same.
Kylie Minogue is releasing album Disco on November 6, the same day as Little Mix's Confetti comes out.
And the Aussie pop princess reckons the race to No1 will be as nail-biting as the Britpop clash.
In an exclusive interview, Kylie, who returns with the record’s second single Magic tomorrow, said: “It’s like Blur and Oasis.
“It’s nerve-wracking enough releasing an album, but I’m so excited for people to hear Magic on Thursday and the album in November.
“But now there’s this added thing. It would be amazing if I could do it. But I take nothing for granted, let’s see.”
There’s extra pressure for Kylie, pictured at The Ritz in London on Monday after speaking to The Sun.
If she does manage to claim the top spot, it will make her the first solo artist in history to have a No1 album in five consecutive decades.
She has already thrilled fans with her single Say Something, released in July, and Magic has a similar theme of yearning for togetherness.
In the chorus to the uplifting and catchy tune, she sings: “Dancing together, nothing that could be better.
“Tomorrow don’t matter, we’ll make the night last for ever.”
She says: “These songs are from the same realm, which is really nice. Both were written last year and the lyrics with Say Something seemed tailor-made for some of us now. But Magic, I just adore that song.
“I think, especially now, you can’t take anything for granted, so to have a release and be reaching people with music and having that connection with people . . .
“I’ve always been a bit cosmic about it because it isn’t tangible, but there’s this connection — even more so now.”

Natty tatty Justin
JUSTIN Bieber has been inked so many times he’ll be struggling to find room for his next tatt.
The Canadian pop star showed off some of his 42 tattoos across his chest and torso in this new shirtless picture.
He has the title of his 2015 album Purpose written on him, but it remains to be seen whether he will get one for his new single Holy, featuring Chance The Rapper.
Justin released the track last week and it is on course to be in the Top Ten on Friday.
AVA Max says her road to stardom was a struggle.
The singer, whose debut album Heaven & Hell is set to go to No1 on Friday, said: “I had a lot of down moments. Every year I was like, ‘Am I ever going to make it?’”
£61m mortar Ed Sheeran riches
THE torrent of cash flooding into Ed Sheeran's pockets from his music may have slowed slightly during his self-imposed break from the business – but thank goodness he has his £61.5million property empire to fall back on should he ever feel he’s getting short of dosh.
The value of the singer’s bricks-and-mortar portfolio has been revealed in new documents filed on behalf of his firm, Maverick Properties Limited, at Companies House, the official registry of British firms.
He has recently spent another £4.5million on homes – and he paid the massive sum in cash.
However, the Shape Of You singer has had a rare setback too, as the financial papers reveal his West London restaurant Bertie Blossoms made a £600,000 loss in its first year.
Even so, that’s like pennies for Ed.
The Sun revealed in February how the shrewd investor had gone on a shopping spree for homes in the capital, taking his total to 27.
He was said to be worth £200million earlier this year, mainly thanks to his music career, during which he has sold 150million records.
Last year Ed completed a 255-date tour, which is believed to be the highest-grossing in pop history, at £600million.
The boost to his finances will surely be welcome now, especially as he’ll be spending a load of money on a pram, baby clothes and toys after his wife Cherry gave birth to their daughter Lyra last month.
No, really – as a dad of two, take it from me, that stuff doesn’t come cheap.
JAMES Bay and Jessie Ware have teased a potential collaboration on her podcast Table Manners.
He is a guest on the episode today and when a duet is raised he says: “We can talk about it later.”
Kendrick a best of all time
KENDRICK Lamar and Beyonce have some of the greatest records of all time, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
It has just updated its 500 Best Albums Of All Time list, with US rapper Kendrick’s 2015 To Pimp A Butterfly being the highest new entry at No19.
Beyonce’s Lemonade, all about husband Jay-Z cheating on her, is at No32, while her self-titled record from 2013 is No81.
The list, which features Marvin Gaye’s 1971 What’s Going On at the top, even snuck on Harry Styles’ Fine Line at No491.
Getting through all that music might take a while.
BASTILLE have released new song Survivin’, about frontman Dan Smith's personal issues.
He said: “There were times I felt like I’d been in a washing machine . . . but when people asked the answer was the British cliché, ‘Yep, all good’.”
