Tommy, 20, was one of the late arrivals to descend on the villa in last night’s first episode of Love Island, joining the initial line-up with Curtis Pritchard, 23.
Their moment was fleeting as they arrived in the villa at the end of the episode, but it was revealed the pair would be choosing a female contestant to couple up with tonight.
This decision will mean two of the male islanders are left vulnerable to being dumped from the ITV reality show and tonight, the male contestants set about trying to woo their ladies.
As the first challenge of the series gets underway, Slide into the DM’s, the male cast members are tasked with trying to work out what secret they choose from the pool of slime relates to the female islanders.
The girl I want to pursue is Lucie
Once the contestant has made up their mind, they then have to kiss the female cast member and it’s not long before Joe, 22, takes the opportunity to land a smooch with Lucie Donlan, 21.
However, with Tommy watching on, could it be Joe uses the moment to show the new arrival he is committed to standing by Lucie?
Later on in the show, Tommy is seen in the Beach Hut, where he tells the camera he is interested in surfer Lucie.
“At the moment the girl I want to pursue is going to be Lucie. She’s a surfer, she goes to the gym,” the boxer admits.
“Her body is banging. She has beautiful eyes, a beautiful face, beautiful everything,” Tommy explains.
So, could it be Joe is about to be pushed out the way as the boxer decides to couple up with Lucie?
Could fans of the show see their first explosive confrontation of the series as Joe decides to fight for Lucie if it is revealed Tommy wants to couple up with her?
Lucie isn’t the only female contestant Tommy has his eye on, as the youngster also takes a liking to Amber Gill, 21.
The beauty therapist and model is currently coupled up with aircraft engineer Callum MacLeod, 28, but she also seems to take a liking to Tommy when they chat on the day beds tonight.
Tommy tells Amber: “You look amazing tonight by the way. You look really nice,” with the model going on to say of his decision: “You should go with whatever your heart feels like, whatever your gut is telling you.”
Ahead of his decision, Tommy goes to Beach Hut where he explains: “As it stands right now, it’s fifty-fifty. I’m being honest with you, I don’t know.”
LOVE ISLAND 2019: TOMMY FURY AND CURTIS PRITCHARD’S ARRIVAL LANDS ITV SHOW FIRST
Who will Tommy choose and will the impact of his decision have lasting repercussions for the rest of the time in the villa?
If Tommy does decide to choose Lucie, fans of the show will be crushed as it appeared the surfer and her partner Joe were the hot favourites following the first episode.
Bookmakers Betway have revealed they received a flurry of bets for the couple, with Joe the top boy at 2/1 and Lucie the top girl at 7/4.
Speaking of the latest odds, Betway’s Alan Alger said: “It can often take a few days for love to start blossoming on the island but punters think Lucie and Joe may have hit it off already.
“There are sure to be plenty of twists and turns for the twosome, but Lucie is now a very solid 7/4 favourite to form the winning couple and punters are piling in on Joe being the top boy at 2/1 as well.”
Love Island 2019 continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
