Max Branning actor Jake Wood is tipped to join the lineup of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
The long serving EastEnders star announced this week that he was quitting the popular BBC soap and now he has been linked to a stint in the jungle.
Speaking exclusively to OK! online a source said: “Jake has more than a few offers on the table and plenty of things in the works too.
“He’s not gonna be short of work and projects so he needed to take time from EastEnders just so he can find the time to do a few other bits.

“The door isn’t going to be closed on his character forever so he’ll be able to return if he wants.”
The insider went to reveal that Jake had been approached by producers on I’m A Celebrity many times already.
“The guys at I’m A Celebrity have tried a few times to get him in the jungle and why wouldn’t they, he’d be dynamite in the jungle.
“Imagine the viewers seeing him in the jungle shower. Having the show filmed in Wales this year makes it more attractive to him because he's not gonna have to worry about rats and snakes running around camp”.
Despite his links to the Ant and Dec hosted show, Jake’s real passion lies in the boxing ring.
The source continued: “Boxing is something that he’s loved from childhood and he already does a really popular podcast on the sport and so many other bits in it too.”
Jake, 48, announced he was departing the soap this week and said: “I’ve had 15 wonderful years at EastEnders and have made some truly great friends.
“I’ll of course miss everyone there but I’m grateful they have left the door open for Max and I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.”
BBC’s executive producer said: “Jake is a truly wonderful actor and EastEnders have been extremely lucky to have him for so long.
“We have a big storyline for Max that starts in the coming weeks and we are all very excited to see that play out.”
An insider also revealed to OK! online that bosses made the decision to create a “big storyline” for the soap star to leave the show as his contract is set to come to an end.
The source said: “Sometimes in soap land big characters have to leave. Bosses are staying tight lipped about what they have planned for Max but considering he has played a major part in the show for over fifteen years they are clearly planning something big and he will not be departing Walford quietly.
"Everyone will be sad to see Jake go as he is not only a great person to have on set but he’s also a fantastic actor.”
