Wednesday’s episode saw Mike and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock taking on the light-hearted challenge in an attempt to win a special treat for the rest of the camp, but this year’s celebs have barely won anything from the daily tasks due to answering the all-important question incorrectly. Sadly, this year’s I’m A Celebrity trend continued tonight, with Mike and Matt completing the challenge but being unable to take back the goodies after the rest of the contestants incorrectly answered an Adele-themed question. Returning to camp, Mike took a dig at music expert Chris.
Mike and Matt were the pair who briefly left camp on Wednesday’s show to try to bring something tasty back to the hungry campers.
They were tasked with using spiked helmets to pop 99 red balloons, which had been strung up.
The balloons earned them letters and the pair had to solve an anagram before time ran out.
Feeling the pressure, Matt admitted: “I’m terrible at anagrams, I’m dyslexic, so all the letters are already in an anagram, so it’s on you [Mike].”
Trying to pop the balloons, Mike remarked: “This is harder than it looks! Turns out I don’t have the ability to figure out where a point is on my head.”
As they started to gather some letters, Matt went on: “Being dyslexic I find anagrams really hard. All I could see was the word tiny.”
Mike eventually clicked that the puzzle spelt out the word ninety-nine.
Keen to celebrate their hard-won victory, the two hoped the campmates would answer the question correctly, especially when they spotted it was chocolate chip cookies at stake.
Aware of their recent question failures, Mike pleaded: “Please camp, get this [question] right!”
The remaining contestants were asked how much the titles of singer Adele’s albums would add up to.
Looking to Chris for the answer from options 70, 94 or 95, the camp were confident the radio guru would answer correctly.
Chris decided the right answer was 70, however, this option was in fact wrong and the camp lost out on the cookies.
Returning to camp empty-handed, Mike commented pointedly: “You telling me Moyles doesn’t know the names of her albums?”
Football star Jill Scott insisted: “We were so adamant we got the question right.”
A defensive Chris responded: “I’m not Adele!” but later claimed he was “of no use”.
In the Bush Telegraph, he reflected: “I’m clearly of no use to anyone here. This is just one long painful embarrassment for me.”
Last night’s episode saw singer Boy Geroge being booted out of camp after losing the public vote.
During his exit interview, he told presenters Ant and Dec that he was ready to leave the jungle but had an amazing time while he was there.
Boy George commented: “I didn’t realise how tough it was gonna be. I have challenged all my control issues and where my head goes.
“I have enjoyed being here with all of you people and it’s been a real adventure.”
Another star will leave the jungle on Wednesday as the fifth contestant to be eliminated.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
