Netflix drop first trailer for Lily Collins' new romcom Emily In Paris from creator of Sex and the City

NETFLIX has dropped the first trailer for Lily Collins' new romcom Emily In Paris from the creator of Sex & the City.

The 31-year-old actress plays the titular Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy.

Emily's new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances in the French capital.

Thankfully, she will take all this on while sporting an enviable wardrobe, thanks to the fact Sex and the City's famous costume designer Patricia Field styled the series.

That isn't the only link to the hit US series fronted by Sarah Jessica Parker, as its creator Darren Star is behind the new Netflix series too.

Lily couldn't hide her excitement about her latest project, writing on Twitter: "Here we go! I’m beyond thrilled to finally announce Emily in Paris officially launches October 2, only on @netflix!

"I hope you guys fall in love with this story, the character and the city just like I did. Can’t. F**king. Wait. Pardon my French…"

The series co-stars Ashley Park along with Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat and Bruno Gouery.

Recurring cast includes Kate Walsh, William Abadie and Arnaud Viard.

Lily – whose father is singer Phil Collins – was last seen on TV screens in BBC and PBS adaptation of Les Miserables last year.

Lily played Fantine in the non-musical version of the Victor Hugo novel.

She was also seen on the big screen in Tolkien alongside Nicholas Hoult as well as in Netflix film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile beside Zac Efron as notorious serial killer, Ted Bundy.

Emily in Paris will arrive on Netflix on Friday, October 2.
